I have had a Stroke

We were on vacation in Florida when I lost control of the right side of my body. I cannot see properly and I cannot move my right arm or leg. We are currently getting the extent of the damage sorted out and will report as further details become clarified.

  5. Strokes are terrible and scary things. My thoughts and hopes are with you and your family for a quick and easy recovery. I’ve been through similar with my own family members. Get well soon.

  6. Upon this, my first thought was, “at least this happened NOW, rather than before he lost the weight and got healthier.”

Here’s hoping you can have as quick and as full recovery as have many of my friends and family.

Your stories are an inspiration to me and I selfishly am hoping you get well soon to get back again to reading them.

  15. Dude, I sincerely hope that you got to a hospital in time as most of the damage from a stroke can be reversed if treated early enough. Included in this, I hope the Gods grant you a speedy and full recovery.

  16. Best wishes at this difficult time, sir. Your stories have been a big part of my life, and I have only good wishes and positive energy to send your way.

  17. Peter,

You are not only of of the best comic writers of all time, but also a hëll of a decent guy. This is terrible news and I hope for a speedy recovery. Get well soon. My thoughts are with you.

  18. Peter,

Hope you get better soon. In my day job I take care of some young individuals with stroke, as they are often diagnosed with a PFO. If this is the case with you, let me know. I’m well known in cardiology throughout the country and can help you find the best doc in Florida.

I collect vintage original comic art from the 60s through the early 90s by the way.

  19. Hey, Peter! Get yourself well as soon as possible. All I can say is a friend of mine who had a stroke last year has made a one hundred per cent recovery. IT’s been a hard road, but it can be done! Good guys like you are few and far between, so we need you fit and healthy.
Love from the UK, where your sense of humour is REALLY appreciated!

  20. Best wishes on a speedy and complete recovery from a long-time fan of yours, from back in the days of GEnie and its SFRT and CRT.

And, despite this, Happy New Year to you and yours.

  21. Since wishing you well and hoping for better health has been said numerous times here (and doubtless felt by many more besides), let me come up with something original for you:

    Live long and prosper.

    Wait a minute…

  22. Hi Peter,

Never posted here before, but just heard the news of your stroke and wanted to say that I hope you have a speedy recovery. We need more writers like you in the world. I’ve always been a big fan of your stuff (and the updates on your family). Sometimes you make me throw my issue across the room (Pip’s shooting being the most recent example), but I always pick it right back up and start reading again!

All the best and stay strong.
