We were on vacation in Florida when I lost control of the right side of my body. I cannot see properly and I cannot move my right arm or leg. We are currently getting the extent of the damage sorted out and will report as further details become clarified.

In college, I fell drastically behind on reading new comics, but I never put off reading an installment of “But I Digress.” In those days, I started to think of each column as a personal letter from my wily, too-intellectually-fierce-for-his-own-good uncle. Get well soon, Uncle Pete. I don’t want to be too long without your wacky anecdotes, your thoughtful advice, and the occasional stern words that put me in my place when it’s needed (such as when I get chummy and call you “Uncle Pete”).
