GEEZ, IT’S QUIET

On the first night of Chanukah, Kathleen and Caroline are down visiting with Kath’s folks in Atlanta…Ariel is with her mom this weekend…Shana and Gwen will be coming to visit, but not until Monday.

So it’s me and the cats.

Yes…that’s right. I’m all alone for the entire weekend. I can do anything. ANYTHING! I can go wild! I can…I can…sleep late! And…and work! Yes, work! Ahhh, but then, I can cruise around and pick up…presents! For the family, yes! Mwaaahahaha! I’m on fire now! And tomorrow night…tomorrow night’s the berserk night! Tomorrow night…I’LL GO BOWLING! AS LATE AS I WANT! Or, y’know, until they turn on those stupid disco lights, and then I’ll go home and work some more. And…and maybe stay up until midnight, at which point I’ll…I’ll watch a rerun of “West Wing!”

Yes, I’m out of control.

PETER’S LAST THOUGHT FOR THE NIGHT

I think they should take all the people wandering the streets of New York City who mutter to themselves and have them wear hands-free cell phones on their heads so they look like they’re talking to someone and won’t be so disturbing.

WHAT SAURON’S BEEN UP TO

After watching “Return of the King” (more thoughts upon which I’ll write up tomorrow) I was suddenly hit with a realization.

Sauron is alive and well and is the secret mastermind behind CBS television.

You doubt me? You think that’s ridiculous? Ah, but consider:

The CBS symbol–A giant, unblinking eye, focused on the hearts and minds of America.

CBS Headquarters–a gigantic, ebony tower, oftentimes referred to as Black Rock.

The initials–CBS=Created By Sauron.

Both have major spokesmen with three syllable names ending with “man” (Saruman=Letterman)

Coincidence? I think not.

PETER’S FINAL THOUGHT FOR THE NIGHT

While folks are busy on other threads quoting such experienced war hands as George Bush or Howard Dean, I thought it might be instructive to offer an observation from the man who wrote the book on war:

“To win one hundred battles in one hundred wars is not the ultimate skill. To stop the enemy without fighting is the ultimate skill.”

–Sun Tzu, “The Art of War”

FALLEN ANGEL TRADE PAPERBACK

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be announcing and discussing several up and coming projects. The first of them is that there is going to be a “Fallen Angel” trade paperback. It’ll be coming out in June of 2004. So for all those “I’m sitting on my hands until the trade comes out,” no excuses.

Still, there’s going to be enough of a time gap between the first trade and the next months of the series (issue #12 will be hitting the stands around the time of the trade collecting 1-6) that I’d still encourage people who aren’t already to sample the book. A new story arc between with #7, and personally, I think it buries the first one.
