I had a feeling the AMPTP was stonewalling the WGA for the simple reason that they saw no point in bargaining with the WGA. Instead they were waiting for talks with the Directors Guild. Why? Because, in my opinion, what the AMPTP *really* wants to avoid is the WGA unionizing animation writers, reality show writers, etc. So the reasoning was simple: Refuse to talk to the WGA. Wait instead for the DGA’s contract negotiations to start. Come across as completely reasonable on the very points that they were stonewalling the WGA on. And once the DGA ratifies the agreement, then the pressure is suddenly on the WGA to accept the terms and go back to work.
My guess? The plan will work.

Spammers back in business, eh?
Rick, he visited you? I sat outside of Pittsburg all day telling Romero and all the Latent Image types just WAIT, my friend’ll be here, he doesn’t need makeup, and they just looked at me like I was a loon. Have any of you ever had the entire cast of a zombie movie look at you as though you were a loon?
Mr. Mulligan need not answer if it’s incriminating.

That’s nothing–you should see the expression on their faces when I say “Hey, I can’t find the spirit gum remover!”
(incidentally, don’t be like me–make your OWN spirit gum remover from more or less equal amounts of baby oil and rubbing alcohol. Shake well before using. Keep away from open flames because I have a hunch that rubbing this stuff on your face and lighting a cigarette would make any further use of zombie masks unnecessary.)
Ah, baby oil. Makes me think of that scene in Addams Family. “Are they made from real Girl Scouts?”

No no no.
You use baby oil to keep them from rusting.
Am I the only one that thinks the spambots occasionally approach something very much like poetry?

Vogon poetry, perhaps.
Another site I’m on got hit with a new set of spambots too – the spammer got through by signing up and then hitting everybody with PM’s on the board.
It’s frustrating, to say the least.
What’s odd is that all the spam that’s getting through is in this one thread. Perhaps some effort could be saved by locking this thread. At least then they wouldn’t have to go through and delete the junk so often.

Actually, it’s been on several threads, but I believe that TPTB around here have been deleting them as quickly as they can.
It doesn’t surprise me that the AMPTP has resorted to spamming. 😉
