Favorite X-Factor characters?

Just out of the sake of my own curiosity, I’d be interested to know who your top two favorite X-Factor characters are? I’m saying “two” going on the assumption that if I said “Who’s your favorite” most people would say Madrox.

So who’re your top two?

Feel free to pass this query to other boards. I’d like to know peoples’ opinions.

  12. Madrox and Layla are my top two favorites in X-Factor, with Rahne and Siryn very close behind. 😀 The Madrox/Layla interactions are awesome, love watching those two verbally spar!

    1. Strong Guy — And I definately think he should get some more attention I’m very curious as to what his past was like and what his full capabilities are.
    2. Rahne — Just a solid character. I love everything about what she is.

    Mr. Madrox second, and really, third through tenth if we were doing a top ten list, just because he can actually fill the spots.

    Or maybe I’m just desperate for some closure after Cable and Deadpool getting axed..and some people have created false hope by saying he’d end up there.

    I must second that motion. A Terry/Wade reunion would be awesome, and while not everybody can write good Deadpool dialogue I’m sure you could (it requires a sense of humor and a knowledge of pop culture, and you’ve got both).

    Monet is one of my favorite X-Men characters, and has been since her introduction in the first issue of Generation Next. But I’ve been consistently frustrated by her portrayal in X-Factor. She is one of the most capable, intelligent, powerful mutants on the face of the Earth. But she isn’t a brat, she doesn’t interest herself in frivolity or pettiness, and she is kindhearted and caring on the surface (not beneath it), despite being both blunt and sometimes unconcerned with feelings.

    She’s fundamentally good and moral, and focuses on excellence (both in possibility and deed) above all. If you read Generation X (and Generation Next before it) you’ll see that her cutting comments aren’t intended to lessen those she criticizes, but to push them to improve themselves or to upbraid them for not becoming what they so easily could.

    She wouldn’t be snide, wouldn’t denigrate others for being less than she is (she might state that they are, but not to debase them), wouldn’t wear bratty shirts, wouldn’t stick out her tongue, wouldn’t lose control when she’s angry (would she be angry – Monet the reserved?). Monet wouldn’t gleefully ask whether Jamie thought she or Theresa was better in bed – there’s no logic in it, and she wouldn’t be interested in a comparison with her obvious inferior.

    I like Monet and I love X-Factor. I wish, though, that Monet were her (very cool and much more interesting) self in the title.

    He’s the strongest, most original character in the X-verse. That and he just reeks of personality, whafting off each pore like cheap purfume and cheaper sex. (Sorry, couldn’t help it.)

    Second would have to be Layla Miller–surprisingly enough, even to me. I won’t lie, I wrote Layla off as Bendis attempt to make up for all the killing he’d done in the year leading up to “House of M,” and feared she’d been shoehorned for editorial reasons.

    Boy, am I stupid. I’ve never been happier to be proven wrong. She’s such a charming character, and I fell in love with her after her session with Doc Samson. Such well written dialogue, plus a Classic Trek reference!

    It will be a shame when Layla finally pops out of existence like a zit on the time-space continuum.

    Actually, there are no characters I really dislike, except maybe M, but she’s annoyed me every since she was introduced.

    Pietro Maximoff (Quicksilver)

    I am hoping Quicksilver hasn’t gotten more votes because people are confused as to whether he’s eligible or not — but I thought the question was, what are your favorite X-FACTOR characters.

    Anyway, Rahne is one of my favorite X-characters period. And Quicksilver written by Peter David is the best Pietro, and I want Pietro to stay in the X-Factor book, written by PAD.

    Madrox is a given, but Rahne and Rictor are amazing. I love me some Quicksilver, too, and Siryn and Guido aren’t that bad.

  37. 1. Monet – She’s a favorite of mine from GenX days. Although I miss her using her genius-level intellect and know-it-all attitude

    2. Layla – maybe thats why I like Layla: she’s Monet from GenX in X-Factor

    3. Rictor – questionable sexuality and kickass persona. Miss his powers though.

    4. Madrox – Great character

    5. Syrin – I’m like Theresa more than I ever have before.

    6. Rhane – I love Wolfsbane from waaaay back in New Mutants.

    7. Guido – I like Guido in X-Factor the first time around, but he’s always been my least favorite member of the team.

  38. I honestly have to say that I long for the days of Havoc, Polaris, Strong Guy, Multiple Man, Quicksilver, and Wolfsbane. That group had some great chemistry. Although I can’t honestly judge the current group because I haven’t read any current issues. Sorry Peter. I’ve really been out of the loop working on my own stuff and just haven’t gotten around to investing myself into another series.

    Just thinking purely about the character’s I like the most Guido would probably have to top that chart and than Mr. Madrox coming in a close second.

    Actually now that I’m really thinking about it, I’m going to have to go check out some issues of X-Factor because I’m curious of just how the group has changed and what type of drama their dealing with currently.

    2. Monet (fiesty fun, she’s the devil on your shoulder that says/does what you would want to say/do)

    5. Siryn (fun friend and right hand gal)
    6. Rahne (best suicide hotliner ever)

    (As characters, Quicksilver, Guido and Jamie are my favs.- I just don’t care for Guido’s treatment of late, and I hate Pietro as a villain).

    Second is Siryn, I’m not sure how to back up why I like her except she’s just a great character.
