  1. I’ve always thought two things were important in the communication of ideas: first, that everyone had the right to speak up, and second, I could sift out the idiots and fools after I’d heard them speak.

It is a shame that it has come to this. Unfortunately, there is always someone who proves that “Common Sense” isn’t that common.

  2. How many people are not going to read PAD’s Spider-Man 2 novelization until after they see the movie? I “spoiled” myself for the first film, but I want to save the surprises this time around.

  3. Upgrade progress

The process continues. A few notes: * Thnaks to Mark L. for pointers that are helping solve some of the problems. However, they don’t seem to be addressing problems with Typekey themselves, as it’s refusing to send me a registration…

  4. Dee is god….. thankfully, I don’t believe in him.

    Register me, pleas. 🙂

  5. A lurker, who is glad to see the end of trolls. Got my Fallen Angel trade last week, liked it alot. Need to read it again. Interesting.

  6. Oh, so now you’re pulling a John Ashcroft and collecting names for da man! So when Ashcroft pulls a Patriot Act and you have to give up a list of names cause he said so, all you’re going to do is say you’re sorry? No way, man! No way, I’m going to fall for da scam! I’m not gonna give you a comment to register! Not me, man! Power to da people, man! Don’t register! Keep your freedom of speech!

  7. I also read the novelization for the first one, Robert because I knew it would mostly be an origiin story, and wouldn’t be spoiled. Ditto for the comic adaptation, because I’m such an Alan Davis freak.

But for the second movie, I’m going in a virgin.

  8. Testing…Is it just me or does “Preview” not seem to be working? It just seems to take me to other peoples’ comments without showing me mine.

  9. All,

Put a URL in the URL field and it will use that entry rather than an email address for display on the comments page – if you don’t have a blog, put Yahoo or CNN or something – assuming PAD and Glenn don’t mind the “fake” URLs.

You should also make sure your TypeKey profile has the email address unchecked.

  10. Oh dear. There really IS a pretend.net and it’s under construction. Better start thinking of something else…

  11. The e-mail address box in my TypeKey profile is unchecked. So let’s see again if it shows my email.

  12. It’s a shame this had to happen. Glenn, we appreciate the work you go through. I’ve always thought it was really big of PAD to even allow this kind of discourse on his site. He certainly didn’t have to.

  13. Peter, Long time fan (from your comics to your excellent Star Trek stories) and though I never posted here before, I feel the need to be validated by and approved by you! 🙂

Used to work for Simon & Schuster and loved visiting the Star Trek Department. Met Diane Cary there but never got to meet you unfortunately.

    Steve

  14. Look on the bright side…

I wonder how many more of your lurkers are de-lurking as there is now something active thats is needed to be done in order to be a part of your community.

Yes, guilty of being a short-term lurker, but proud of being a long time fan 😉

  15. As a web site administrator, I am terribly, terribly sorry that you were forced to block someone. I have only had to do it once or twice, but I hate that it has to happen. I hope that the sailing is clear and smooth henceforth.
