Happy 2nd Anniversary to Peter and Kathleen!

(To everybody else, if Peter doesn’t post today, you may speculate why in the privacy of your own skulls.)

  1. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY !!!! May the good times be rich and plentiful and the bad times be few and far between.

  2. My best wishes to Peter and Kathleen for a very happy anniversary, and, of course, the best of all possible Destinies.

  3. I apologize in advance if this ruffles any feathers (especially Kathleen and Peter’s). I am a long-time PAD fan and used to read his BID columns in CBG religiously. The columns with which I am most familiar were from 1991-1997. In them he repeatedly talks about his wife Myra. What happened? Did Peter and Myra divorce or did Myra pass away? Again, I am very sorry for bringing this up, but I felt as if I came to know Myra from Peter’s columns and it was quite a shock to find PAD’s blog and see that he is now married to Kathleen. I was sad to see that Myra’s gone (though Kathleen seems equally interesting). Can anyone briefly clue me in to what happened? I know that this is Peter’s personal life, but since he allows his private life to take such a prominent role in his columns and his blogs, I feel that this is a legitimate question.

Peter, please understand that this question arises in large part from your wonderful and open writing. I follow most all of your work, and I do not mean to offend. If you do not want this discussed, you may simply tell me, “It’s none of your business.”

Yes, it’s legitimate. Painful, but legitimate.

Long story short, people change, circumstances change. Change is rarely easy. In this case, the change involved Myra and I splitting up about five, six years ago. It was difficult, and took a long time, but eventually everything got sorted out. As the saying goes, for every door that closes, another opens. If we hadn’t gotten divorced, I wouldn’t be with Kathleen, and Ariel wouldn’t have her baby sister.
