I’m not sure what sort of weird glitch caused so many multiple. I am, however, in the process of clearing it out. And since I was able to post without an error message, ideally this problem will not be recurring.
I think I got most of the multple comments on “Smallville.”
On to Buffy tomorrow.
Best,

I hate when that happens
I hate when that happens
I hate when that happens
I hate when that happens
I hate when that happens

Sorry, poor taste… 🙂
Um, so what’s the problem?

Now, that’s funny!
I promise, I’ll only post this once.
The problem I had yesterday was that every time I tried posting, I got a server timeout message, indicating it didn’t get through. And everytime I tried reloading the main page or the thread, it indicated 21 messages posted, never showing mine. So I kept trying to post it. If it happens to me again today, I’ll assume it went through and not post again.
I really wasn’t trying to stuff the ballot box for Smallville. 😉

Need to get the multiples on the “Final Episode of Buffy” thread too.
Having just scanned to see if there was any new comments, I can tell you not all the multiples are out of the Smallville block.
So I am responding to a question from Mifune Valentine (nice handle) here:
Everything you asked about was pre- Crisis On Infinite Earths. The Kents left on a vacation the summer Clark graduated from Smallville High. Weren’t aware they picked up a deadly tropical illness until their return home, which by then was too late to be treated/cured. Clark naturally survived because of his powers.
There was a sequel in the early 80’s(?) placing Lana and Lois in the same predicament, but this time SuperMAN discovered he could harvest a few of his super-anti-body blood cells to save them. SuperBOY was too distraught over the original situation to think up that idea.
No, I am NOT making the above up, although I do not remember exact titles and issue numbers.
I remember the story.
He wasn’t able to save them as Superboy because he wasn’t there with them when they picked up the disease. He was, however, with Lana and Lois when they contracted the disease. So, this time his body had the needed anti-bodies to stop the disease.

Remembering a specific comic book story can be tricky at best, considering the time and retconning involved.
In the original story, Clark was the only one to meet the Kents at the dock. When they first became ill, he was isolated too just in case, but never came down with it. Clark assumed it was his powers. The doctors assumed that only the Kents came down with it and not the rest of the ship because of their age.
