  1. Re: PAD’s whereabouts. Phew! I was starting to dread the “PAD is Really Sadaam” theories that would have inevitably emerged in his continued absence from this page… 🙂

Re: S2. Well, boy howdy. And here I thought there’d be nothing to look forward to at the movies after this week. Could only get a small screen version in the few minutes I had to fiddle, but Doc Ock looks better than I’d expected him to, and KD and TM look as well suited to the roles as the first time around. Looks like we might be getting a John Jameson plot thrown in, as well? Interesting….

  2. >>”PAD is Really Sadaam” theories

Admittedly, I have never seen them both at the same time…

  3. The teaser itself looks great, but it’s a pity that the chosen format for its premiere is so bad. I’m waiting for the Quicktime full screen version. Anyway, in a more PAD-related note, I’m waiting for the novelization as much as for the movie itself. If my english is somehow wrong, sorry, I’m spanish.

And Doc Ock looks great, indeed.

  4. While watching the trailer, my hooting and hollering prompted my employees to come back and see if I was okay. As for the quality, it worked fine here, but I’m on a T1 line. Those on dial-up (like when I get home) are going to have a rough go of it…

  5. The trailer looks great, and seeing how pudgy Doc Ock looked convinced me that Alfred Molina is the right guy for the part.

  6. It kept freezing up on me, if it came up when I clicked on the screen. And it isn’t a dial-up either. It was around 10am to noon Eastern. I imagine everyone’s trying to watch it.

  7. The Spidey trailer looks like a lot of fun — I laughed my ášš off when the car came through the window. Also, I’m loathe to admit it (on a somewhat related subject, though unrelated to PAD) that good or bad, the Punisher (trailer on Windows Media Player: Now Showing) is gonna be pretty. Even though I hate the character, it might be worth going to see.

  8. I love the SM2 trailer! I’m on a dial-up and it was fuzzy and all, but it was awesome none the less. Molina in retrospect, really was the best choice. Raimi is just genius at that.

I saw enough of the Punisher trailer at WWT…they had this huge booth thing that played the trailer over and over and over and over again…it was obnoxious!

    Michael Norton

  9. I work in animation and I’ve hired Alfred Molina, a very nice man, for voice work. Now it looks like we’re not going to be able to touch him. First Brad Garrett, now this. Cripe! By the way, is it the intention of the film makers of the Spidey series to keep Peter a virgin? Here, yet again, he’s turning down the girl he loves, ostensibly for this “responsibility” thing. Well, love means responsibility too, buster. Grow up.

  10. The trailer played great for me. Spider-Man 2 looks like its gonna be a lot of fun.

And I think Pete and MJ will get together in the inevitable SM3. Trilogys are all the rage.

  11. On another board that I frequent that requires you log in to post, I started to type “Sweet Jesus”, rather than my screenname, which starts with “S”.

I think that expresses what I thought of the film pretty well. 😀

  12. Just got back from PhilCon myself (carrying twenty-some books, my laptop, guitar, duffel bag, and a five-foot-long mailing tube with artwork inside … on public transportation), and it was a joy to get to speak at length with Peter. And seeing him in the Graham Chapman suit of armor was a plus.

But there’s some news everyone here should know–Julie Schwartz is in a bad way, in the hospital for pneumonia. Though the update I gave to Peter at the end of the con was a good one, things seem–at present–to have take a turn for the worse.

Harlan Ellison has been providing updates on his web board at http://harlanellison.com/heboard/unca.htm so you may want to just CTRL-F for “HARLAN ELLISON” to see his posts over the last three days. Of course, we can only wait and see, but if there are those here who believe in the power of prayer, it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to send a few prayers in Julie’s direction.

  13. I really hope Mr. Schwartz improves. This has been a tough year for people I’ve admired (Katherine Hepburn, Gregory Hines, Bob Hope).

  14. I trailer is AWESOME! I LOVE how it starts out on a serious, personal, non-superhero scene, and then explodes into one that is. BEAUTIFUL!

  15. I just saw the SM2 trailer before THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KING. It looks great, both in content and (compared to the 1st Internet trailer) quality.

I know it’s not easy to wait, but it’s better to see the preview in a movie theater than have your first glimpse to be through a jerky small video image. Trust me on this.
