Me Pulling the Balloon (with some help)

A nationally published picture of me as part of the Marvel/Macys team in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. No, that’s not the natural glow of my charisma; that’s a highlight my brother Wally dropped around me in order to make it easier to see me.

  1. I hope the photographer got a nice bonus for that shot–that’s an absolutely perfect head-on shot of the balloon. It’s almost as if the photog had some specific incentive for making Spidey look so good…hmmm…

(Or is Petey even a photographer any more? It’s been so long since I’ve looked at a Spider-book, I have no idea.)

  2. Helps to have a professional photographer as a brother, eh, Peter?

Peter, where was this published? I’d like to read the publication.

    Happy Thanksgiving weekend, everyone!

  3. I was going to say “hey, this means you’re canon now!”, but then again you were the one who officially married the Rick/Marlo wedding, so it’s a moot point. 🙂

Great picture — and sounds like it was a really fun day. How’d you manage to get the gig?

    1. Thanksgiving is a great big feast (usually with a turkey) on the last Thursday of November. The story goes that it started as a feast between the Pilgrim settlers and the Native Americans. Nowadays we use it as a time to stop and reflect on what we’re thankful for.

And shopping. The stores used to start all their Christmas shopping sales on Friday after Thanksgiving. Which then creeped up into 12 midnight on Thursday night. And this year creeped up to 9 PM Thanksgiving night.

Fourth Thursday, actually. Which is usually the last Thursday, but not always.

  4. Hmm, person with weird glow around it appears in otherwise normal setting… Ah ha! Now we know who the woman in purple from the New DCU is!

  5. Hi, I can’t take credit for the photo. I sure wish I could. While I am a photographer and part-time blogger, I didn’t take that great shot. I just pulled it from the web and made a halo around my angel of a brother!
