SPOILER:
I see dead people.
Rick.
P.S. It is a good story. I like that you have to read it twice to pick up on a few things.
There was evil magic here before, but now, a female version of The Crow makes a visit. (Remember, in the TV series, The Crow could make captured criminals experience all the agony and pain of the people they killed, which usually left them gibbering and willing to confess to the police. It was the TV substitute for the movie Crow simply turning the criminals into bloody chunks.)
Considering the trail of corpses, it’s surprising this visit didn’t occur a lot earlier. And it’s surprising that Lee didn’t do a better job of checking out her client – like seeing if she had a pulse, or insisting that she pull back that hood to see if her head was intact.
I thought that the character in this issue was more like the Ghost Rider (Spirit of Vengence) whenever innocent blood was shed the Ghost Rider would find the evil responsible for the act and make the individual feel their victims suffering.
It was a good read, but then I am biased fan of PAD’s work.

Actually, I have not read it. I right now am waiting for a few more issues to read it together. The last arc would have been better if I read it as a trade, so I put it in my collection with a note, read it all later. Hopefully I will not lose the note
Loved it.Loved it!Funny i didnt read it twice but things in the story made a lot more sense after the story was over.Dont wanna be a spoil hound so
I wont go into details.Good issue waiting for #14
with baited breath:)

In the first movie, Eric Draven took out the head bad guy, after losing most of his powers and being mortally wounded, by transferring into the villain’s mind the memories he’d tapped from the cop (of the agony endured by his fiancee, as the EMTs and ER doctors fought to revive her).
Ha ha ha ha : Mary Joseph Anzar 1996 – 2004. This David Lopez is great (and from the city I was born. I don’t know him but we bougth comics in the same store)
Another great mind-bending issue; thought the cameo by the author was pretty cool, too. 🙂
Thomas E. Reed said: “And it’s surprising that Lee didn’t do a better job of checking out her client…”
Actually, I thought she DID. I think Lee was picking up the clues when Tiffany had refused to imbibe either liquor or a cigarette. Then when Tiff claimed to have actually TRACKED Lee to Asia’s pad, that pretty much ‘sealed the deal’ on Lee’s growing suspicions.
KET
KET, I don’t drink alcohol all that often, and wouldn’t do so in a tense situation – like negotiating with a PI who kills her clients as often as she helps them. And I gave up smoking a long time ago.
Now, if she had refused to drink a Diet Coke, that would be cause for suspicion. Diet Coke is the Elixir Vitae, the primordeal soup from which all life sprung on this world. If she couldn’t get near a glass of the True Bubbly, THAT would be cause for suspicion.
But you are right; if Lee is as perceptive as she seems to be, tailing her without her knowing would be a solid giveaway.
The only point; if this ghost was the TV version of The Crow, could Tom Servo be far behind?

Well, I don’t drink or smoke either, but in Tiffany’s case, she IMMEDIATELY started giving off bad vibes by refusing to drink IN A BAR. Remember that Lee even made a comment to that effect: “You can tell a lot about someone by what they drink.” Lee also offered the cigarette REPEATEDLY, and Tiff simply refused without any explanation.
And as far as that “PI who kills her clients” jazz, since WHEN? The only guy we ever seen Lee take a lethal smackdown to WASN’T a client, and Tiff couldn’t possibly have known about what happened to Black Mariah (considering the reported silence she was met with by denizens of Bete Noire). Others who have met death through their dealings with Lee have been getting it inadvertantly through THEIR OWN ‘just deserts’.
“But you are right; if Lee is as perceptive as she seems to be, tailing her without her knowing would be a solid giveaway.”
…which is why Lee then started warning Asia to get away.
“The only point; if this ghost was the TV version of The Crow, could Tom Servo be far behind?”
LOL. 🙂

Yeah, those girls here in Minnesota really have a way of getting to’ya…
Great read. Always a treat to see Asia and I’m quite happy he got a little bit of a wake up call.
I’m new to the title and i friggin love it.
I just bought issues 1-11 and will be getting 12-13 next week. I’ll going to recommend this title to anyone who will listen. Here’s my question.
Whats the best way for me to show support for the book? Should i have bought the first trade, followed by the montlies that follow it? When i recommend it to other people is it better for the future of book that they buy that first trade and continue with montlies? How important are those trade sales for the continued publication of Fallen Angel ? I’m just trying to help where i can. This might be my favorite book now that Captain Marvel is gone so i’d like it to stay around awhile. Thanks,
Chris
Well, the only thing that i didn’t comprehend without a second reading was the bit in the street with Benny, the pickpocket.
For the rest of the clues (or whatever you call them) i noticed them and sort of filed them away, since they seemed to be “significant”, in line with the famous theatrical dictum that “‘If you show trophy fish in first act, then by third act you must show that it is only red herring.’ — Pavel Chekov”.
Oh — BTW — Your system refused to allow me to sign in using the Opera browser, but *did* allow it using MSIE (haven’t tried Firefox yet). Opera always worked before; this time i got an error saying i didn’t have authority to access that URL on that page…
I think I’m enjoying the one-shot issues even more than the multi-parters. The only other book I’m enjoying this much is Identity Crisis. This was also a great issue for new readers, so everyone should start pressuring their friends to get into this book! Don’t let it be cancelled! Post favorable reviews on Newsarama!
“The only other book I’m enjoying this much is Identity Crisis.”
For a different opinion, my reaction on reading the second issue of Identity Crisis was (to paraphrase that great philosopher Phoebe Buffay): “What kind of sick superhero-wife rape/snuff book is this?!?”
So I won’t be around for issue #3.
To get the thread back on track: I bought a copy of the Fallen Angel trade this weekend at Borders in Seattle. The check-out clerk picked it up, said, “Oh, what a lovely cover!” She then proceeded to rapidly and carelessly flip through the book (causing me to mentally command her “Hey! Be careful with my book!”). She visibly blanched when she flipped open to the page where a victim is bloodily torn apart, and she rapidly put the book back down on the counter.
So, Peter, I bought a copy of the book. But I think I cost you a sale as well. Sorry ’bout that. Lovely cover, though.

My sentiments exactly! The graphic nature IMO of
a woman’s death, and rape in this series is a bit much for me,dont think i will be back either. This book doesnt even have a mature readers label.
Oddly enough issues 10 and 11 of Supreme Power(with parental advisory)with Zarda(wonderwoman type) nude gets the plastic bag ,no kiddies allowed treatment. No sex, rape or murder of nude woman just a beautiful piece of artwork by Gary frank who does the nudity tastefully by the way.She thinks she is a goddess, nudity seems natural to her.Besides another female non human character was seen without clothing and no plastic bag.Rape /murder okay, nude nonhuman female okay, nude monica belluci lookalike /wonder woman bad…Whatever.
Back on topic i am rereading the trade and issues 7 thru the present to get all geeked for the next Fallen Angel.
I know this is a late, but I just read the first thirteen issues of Fallen Angel. I’m loving EVERY page of the series. So far, #13 is my favorite issue. I loved how the story had a “Blink and you Miss It” feel that makes the reader want to read it again. The scenes where Tiffany confronts Asia Minor are chilling, yet incredible. I can’t wait to see what the consequences of this story’s events will be. I hope we see Tiffany in the pages of Fallen Angel again.
Peter, you have said that Fallen Angel is some of your best writing. I agree with this 2000%. Keep up the good work. I’m waiting impatiently for Fallen Angel #14.

Ho-hum, another typically excellent issue.
A shame this series isn’t selling better…I bought the trade and all the subsequent issues…and FA probably is the best stuff I’ve ever read by PAD…
