Let me Know if You’re having problems

Lately I’ve discovered that if I’m trying to sign on in order to post responses, the program refuses to acknowledge that I’ve signed on and I get no response box. I think it may be because I’m going through AOL, but I can’t be sure.

If anyone else is having sign on problems in trying to respond, please e-mail me at padguy@aol.com.

  1. Peter:
I keep getting internet script errors whenever I try to go anywhere on your site beyond the main page, otherwise everything is okay on my end.
Meanwhile there is something else you should know.
Whoever cloned your AOL address to send out virus infected e-mails, I just got one under Glenn’s name via Verizon.net!
I hope you catch the “wat bastawd(s)”!
(Sorry I had to post this here, but SBC/Yahoo is still down as far as sending e-mails is concerned.)
    Take care.

  2. Well, let’s see. First, the “remember me” button STILL doesn’t remember anything. (Couldn’t the URL business be remembered by the sign-in?)

Second, the preview doesn’t work on my setup. (Mozilla browser.) It provides the thread with a blank comment form. (You can right-click and go back on the pop-up’s mouse menu, and your comment is still there. Just not previewed.)

Third, for some reason, after posting, the pop-up window says I am not logged in, but when I make a different comment, it says I am.

  3. Ditto. No preview for me, and the remember me function is pointless. I have to click the “yes” button every time I come here, and it has no effect on the next time.

  4. I haven’t really tried the “remember me” function, but the preview function doesn’t work for me. (Safari browser.)

No sign-on problems, though: it took me a little while to get Typekey working, but now that it’s working it’s been pretty solid.

  5. I can post okay on yours, but I can’t post for anything on Kath’s, which doesn’t display a sign-in box at all. I miss posting on her blog!

  6. Why do we have to sign in for EVERY freakin’ comment we make?

And now that I think about it, Elayne (who formerly had the best last name any woman could ask for, but NOOOOOOO, she had to go marry a Brit), I thought that Kath’s site was done by Type Key, but that explains why I can’t post there either.

Just teasing, Elayne. Don’t kill me.

  7. I cant do a preview.Sometimes i can sign in once and jump from thread to thread other times i have to log in on each separate thread.:(
Typekey works for me just fine.Still wish it hadnt come to this but all in all not bad

  8. Hey, I’m not having problems signing in, but I was wondering (and this is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay off topic, but wasn’t sure where else to ask): Did you write a letter to tv guide about their not including what’s his nuts from the Addam’s Family in their top tv dads thing? It was written in such a way that it could have been you, and the name was Peter David from someplace in NY that began with a B ( I think, I have short term memory problems sometimes, can ya tell?)

    Monkeys.

  9. The preview function is also busted in Firefox; however, this appears to be related to the site rather than browser, as it forwards me to the old comment entry page (i.e., one without passwords).

  10. I haven’t had any problems yet, but Jerome Maida e-mailed me that he hasn’t been able to post since we started with Typekey. I usually just look over my post and skip the preview part so that part hasn’t bothered me.

  11. Had some problems a few days ago when your pages came up as ‘account suspended’ for a whole day. I could access all other websites, so not a problem at this end methinx. Seems okay now.

  12. Hey PAD,

Let Kath know that contrary to what she says on her blog, you still can’t post there.

  13. Same problems as some others have had. Sometimes need to log in for every comment, sometimes not. Always have to log in again once I go offline and come back.

Have had 2 or 3 posts disappear into the ethernet.

On a possibly related note, I am online through Peoplepc. The dialup speed is about half the speed it was two weeks ago. And for the last week or so, I have been kicked offline several times.

Maybe the internet is just too busy.

Well, the problem’s either (a) fixed, (b) sporadic, or (c) on your end; I posted just fine a second ago. Here’s hoping it’s option (a).

  15. Not a tech problem ,but if what Karem says is true we got to get this fixed.I for one miss reading Jerome’s posts and his sparring with others on topics. Its kind of like PTI with out the yelling:)

Yeah, I saw your post Tim. I went back to try and post again. Still couldn’t post. I get a comment block, but when I post I’m told I need to register. Register WHERE? There’s no place to sign in.

    Huh. That’s really odd.

It’s possible that I’d just posted on Peter’s blog before I went over to Kath’s — maybe it recognized that I was already signed in with TypeKey at that point. That’s a guess, though — and regardless, there’s obviously something weird going on.

    Best of luck!

  18. Well, after very many tries logging on via typekey over several days, it finally worked. Maybe there was a delay in my registration or whatnot.

  19. Okay, I’ve discovered the problem with posting on Kath’s blog. There’s no place to sign in. I had to come to Peter’s blog and sign in here, then go back there to post. Glen needs to put a sign in link to the Typekey login on Kath’s blog.
