BIG APPLE CONVENTION

Spent a good chunk of the day at the Big Apple Convention, meeting and greeting fans and signing a ton of comics. Everyone was gracious and friendly, and quite a few had nice things to say about both “Captain Marvel” and, most gratifyingly (considering where it stands in the sales rankings) “Fallen Angel.” Also quite a few said they read this blog, so a big hello to all who do. It was great to see you all.

Won’t be at the convention tomorrow. As noted earlier, if you want to see me, put on ESPN between 1 and 2:30 PM and maybe you’ll spot us at the bowling competition. We’ll probably be wearing our “Pirates of the Caribbean” shirts.

  1. Hey Mr. David,

I’m one of the fans that was at the convention yesterday – I kept approaching you to sign issues of Atlantis Chronicles that I kept finding around. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for answering all my questions and being so friendly and accessible. It was my first convention in my 17 years of collecting comics, so between meeting you and all the 50 cent comics for sale, it was definitely a worthwhile experience. Thanks again!

  2. I second that thank you for a nice conversation about “West Wing” and “Fallen Angel”. And of course, it was a joy to meet your adorable daughters. Thanks for a pleasant convention experience.

  3. Where exactly is Fallen Angel on the sales charts, anyway? And how does DC expect it to sell with ZERO publicity? (Seriously, I pay fair attention to the comic press, and I hear little to nothing about that book, which I enjoy.)

  4. Peter – thank you very much for signing the loads of stuff I brought with me. It was great to chat with you for a few seconds, and I know my brother will appreciate his gifts. (Bill, don’t read that.)

  5. Wanted to chime in briefly here — Terri and I were at the Slanted Fedora show in Indianapolis this past weekend, and while it wasn’t as well attended as we’d hoped, but we still sold many many books, including upwards of 20 copies of No Limits. Lots of people were excited about the anthology (and several didn’t realize there were two new books by you out, and they were excited about that, too).

    Thought you’d want to know.

  6. How did you think of Joe Simon at the convection in New York City on April 3,4. He was selling copies of his book.
