I smell a government conspiracy. I’ll bet Ashcroft is trying to hunt for more naughty pictures.
Terrorists piss me off.
Probably all those naked Teen Titans pictures….
People who are willing to sacrifice their blogs for security are deserving of neither.
Remeber everyone, if we change our blogging habits, then were letting the terrorists win…
Yeah, I can just see that Osama guy sitting in his cave rubbing his hands with glee, and saying: “That’ll teach the Jew David not to remove Supergirl’s invisibility and morphing powers.”
dam. I just installed blog on my site heh.
This is so not the work of Bin Laden. I bet its just a bunch of restless computer hackers from Colorado. In fact, I bet I know these guys! Haha!
But those sites were taken out when unknown hackers went after an obscure Web site belonging to a group called Internet Haganah, which tries to get service providers to boot terror-connected Web sites off the Internet, according to Annette Howard, co-owner of Haganah’s ISP, Hosting Matters.
How ironic. Haganah, in Hebrew, means ‘defence’. But The Haganah (along with etzel and Lechi) was a TERRORIST group in Israel, fighting the British when they occupied the country, pre-1948…

As they said in the movie AIRPLANE, “You know, irony can be pretty ironic sometimes.”
Somehow I think terrorists have better things to do with their time than attacking BLOG SERVERS. Please.

Okay, gvalley. You certainly have quite a nerve trying to smear Israel on a website belonging to someone who happens to support Israel. The Haganah, I want to make it perfectly clear, did NOT go after innocent civilians unlike Fatah, Hamas, PLO, et cetera, who are mass murderers. I might also point out, for that matter, that the British were silent partners in the holocaust. And I suggest you apologize to, if anyone, PAD, for posting spam on his weblog, and abusing it.
Sorry, the British? You mean the British who, virtually alone among the European nations, have never had a mass-movement fascist party? Or do you mean the British who, virtually alone among the nations of the world, fought Nazi Germany for two years?

Tell that to Rachel Correy’s parents.
Anyhow, I guess we know where this “Haganah” (the modern one shutting down sites) feels about freedom of speech, huh?
Michael Norton
So, this was why I couldn’t get here in time to ask PAD a question?
All I wanted to ask was are the Cognoscenti from ‘Strike Zone’ and your DC comics run the same race as Morgan Leflers ‘Promethians’?
Hi there Avi,
I’m Israeli, born and raised in Haifa, and I suggest you:
1) Relax a bit.
2) Check your definition of “terrorism”, and update it; it’s wider than our current, local conflict, you know.
3) Check your facts, AND your opinions. If the Hamas kill Israeli soldiers while not directly engaged in a shootout or whatever, do you still consider it terrorism?
4) Check your definition of ‘Spam’, too. Just because I don’t subscribe to the same fascistic doctorine you call an ‘education’, doesn’t make my opinions invalid, certainly not ‘spam’, and definitely not something to apologize for.
5) Realize that ‘supporting Israel’ does not exclusively mean:
– automatically agreeing with or justifying everything the country does
– closing an eye to brutality on either side
– supporting horrible people like Sharon as P.M.
6) Get off your high horse and face facts. The sooner you realize our country was formed by terrorism, has engaged in active terrorism for the last 35 years and is a terrorist country now (hëll… even according to your very narrow ‘killing innocents’ probable interpretation of the word), and the sooner you understand why all this really happens and that not everyone who says this is antisemitic, a traitor or an Israel-hater – the more hope we will all have for a better tomorrow.
7) Relax a bit more. You’re giving all of us a bad name, frothing at the mouth like that.
Sorry, the British? You mean the British who, virtually alone among the European nations, have never had a mass-movement fascist party? Or do you mean the British who, virtually alone among the nations of the world, fought Nazi Germany for two years?
I have no idea what he’s referring to either, but it might be as silly as GE (or was it GM?) supplying weapons to both America and Nazi Gemany during the war (true fact; not only that, they later sued the American govt. for bombing one of their munitions factories in Germany… and WON!!), leading some lunatics to claim that America ITSELF was pro-German.
🙂
Just a side note (sorry for hogging space like this):
Avi, my post was written under the assumption you’re Israeli, too. My phrasing does not apply, in some cases, if you’re not.
I did NOT intend to imply you’re uneducated… just that you might have overdozed on too much of the wrong kind of education. Expand, man. Do you good.
Tell that to Rachel Correy’s parents.
Rachel Corry was an idiot who leat under a bulldozer. That home that was demolished had tunnels for sumuggling weapons from Egypt.
Anyhow, I guess we know where this “Haganah” (the modern one shutting down sites) feels about freedom of speech, huh?
Haganah just publishes the ISP info for a terrorist group, al-Qaida. They can’t shut anyone down. amazing how you’re more critical against them than the terrorists who actually did shut down sites.
Rachel Corry was an idiot who leat under a bulldozer. That home that was demolished had tunnels for sumuggling weapons from Egypt.
Regardless of the house, she had a bright orange humanitarian jacket on. She shouldn’t have been run over.
The idea she was an idiot, is subjective. I do not believe she was and I support her. But that’s not relevant either.
To kill someone who has nothing to do with being a terrorist in the waging of an “anti-terrorist” campaign is in itself terrorism.
Disagree with what she did or who she was, all you want. But don’t say she deserved what she got or that the Israelis don’t kill innocents.Neither would be true.
Michael Norton
umm, somehow I dont think you guys are getting the point of POD’s post in this matter????
Way Offtopic here.
cheers
Can’t spell for šhìŧ tonight. that’s should have been PAD, heh. lol. Close enough.
Michael Norton: Disagree with what she did or who she was, all you want. But don’t say she deserved what she got or that the Israelis don’t kill innocents.Neither would be true.
Well, to be fair Rachel Corry has nothing to do with any of it anyway. It was initially stated the Haganah didn’t kill innocents, and then her corpse was dragged in. While I’m not sure Avi’s statement is fact, I can tell you the organization disbanded in 1948 and formed the IDF. I can also tell you that of all the other Israeli militant groups of the time, it was the most benevolent, and that the IDF’s ‘official rulebook’ is therefore actually admirably humane. They used to take it by the letter, too, with absolute stress on the ‘D’ for the most part (except for very irregular attack missions like airbombing Iraq’s nuclear reactor – but generally that was defence as well), until Sharon decided to go past those 40 Lebanese KM he committed to, turning ‘D’ into ‘A’ and screwing everything up.
Well then, gavalley, why did you try to say that the Haganah was a terror group in any way? You realize the implications you’re making, don’t you?
And to you, Norton, don’t you have better things to do than to attack Israel and continue to fan the flames of hatred against this country? By now, I’m sure you’ve seen the latest entry by PAD, so I hope you realize that you may have pretty much given yourself away as a non-PAD fan.
Thanks very much to Mr. Burdo for helping to straighten out details. 🙂 And as Dee says, it’d be strongly advised not to go too off topic. Thanks very much to Dee too. 🙂
You know, Doug Adams started the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy with the idea of a guy lying in front of a bulldozer.
In reality however, it’s a very silly practice and shouldn’t be done by anybody that enjoys living.
I can’t say I feel completely sorry for somebody willing to do such a thing, since I certainly don’t go for the “human shield” bit.
I mean, the people that do that sort of the thing are the ones just begging to be removed from the gene pool anyways.
Avi green: Well then, gavalley, why did you try to say that the Haganah was a terror group in any way? You realize the implications you’re making, don’t you?
I didn’t try to say anything, I said it; and I said it because I believe it to be true. The haganah brought on what they considered to be positive change through the use of tactics the (then) current regime deemed illegal; sometimes, when it fit their interests, they worked with the British, sometimes against them. Towards the end, they were active in blowing up bridges etc., and some say also helped execute “smallscale” retribution-style massacres in actively hostile Arab villages (mainly providing artillery backup for members of other groups, who actually pulled the trigger). Is fighting, under these circumstances, by any means necessary in order to liberate your country morally acceptable? There are various viewpoints, all valid on some level or another. Is it terrorism? Hëll yeah! Because sometimes terrorism is your only choice; and like I said – terrorism isn’t exclusively the blind slaughtering of innocent civilians. Blowing bridges, stealing cars from the British for your operations, teaching civilians to shoot and hide weaponry, smuggling weapons and provisions, organizing militias are ALL acts of terrorism. RESISTANCE is terrorism.
And it’s gvalley, not gavalley : )
Rachel Corry was an idiot who leat under a bulldozer. That home that was demolished had tunnels for sumuggling weapons from Egypt.————-> how do you know this is true-surely the isreal gov. would want you to believe that and if you do than you must also believe bush’s trying to save the world. HOW can you be so niave
