A BOWLING WE WILL GO

Tomorrow morning Ariel and I will be heading down to Harrisburg, PA, where Ariel will be participating in the Professional Women’s Bowling Association Pro-Am Tournament. No, Ariel is not a pro, obviously, but for 11 years old she’s doing very well, currently carrying a 112 average and recently bowled a new high game of 160 in her Wednesday night league. So anyone who wants to come by and cheer her on Tuesday at 4:00 PM, swing on by the A.B.C. West Lanes at 6454 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA. For that matter, I’m told they still have openings for anyone who wants to participate.

  1. She is doing well! Consider that I am 30 and only recently had my first ever strike.

Good luck Ariel and have a good time!

  2. From what I recall of my own bowling at that age, that’s a darn good average. Also, if she keeps it up, she’s likely to improve rapidly over the next couple of years. I’d guess it’s a combination of generally increased precision and the adolescent growth spurt providing more strength for a more forceful throw.

  3. Hey, PAD! Welcome to Harrisburg.

If you come downtown and pass the Health and Welfare Building, wave to me. I’m on the sixth floor.

  4. Wow!! That bowling alley’s less than four miles from my house!! Best of luck to Ariel and if you wave at the guy in the Health and Welfare Building then wave at me towards the main Capitol Building.

  5. Hey, Budd. I wonder what the odds are of two people visiting PAD’s website both being from the same town and working a block away from each?

Do you work for a state rep’s office?

  6. I’m twice her age and I’d kill for that bowling average. Heck, I’d kill for half that average.

    I think I need a drink…

  7. Hi Den,

I don’t work directly for a state rep, but more in a support function that all legislators and state agencies use. I agree, small world, eh?
