Spent the weekend up in Boston attending Shana’s graduation from Berklee College of Music. I was pleased that she was willing to attend, since graduations are usually long (and often boring) affairs that bear no resemblance to the graduation in the movie “Fame.”
Adding some interesting kick to the graduation was that Steven Tyler of “Aerosmith” was given an honory doctorate, and handed out diplomas while official school photographers took pictures. Shana, steeling her nerve, walked up and kissed him on the cheek while the photographer snapped away. Then, overwhelmed by what she’d just done, she rabbited away as Tyler was about to say something to her, so she’ll never know what it was he was going to tell her. The school is supposed to send us pictures of it, at which point we’ll endeavor to get a picture to Tyler.
Sunday was Kathleen’s first mother’s day. We spent it going out to meals and at Babys R Us, picking up a high chair (actually, a booster seat) so we can start Caroline on solid food.

Congratulations for Shana! Tell her I said so 🙂 (even though she has no idea who I am 🙂 ) Such a terrific accomplishment!
I am set to graduate in a couple of semesters myself and know how hard it can get…and she graduated from Berkely, no less!
Again,
Great Job!

Oh, let me wish Shana well too on her successes again. Congratulations!
Hee! That’s adorable. You rock, Shana.
Oh, and congrats on the whole graduating thing, too. 😉
Oh, and congratulations to Kathleen as well! Sunday must have been such a great day for her! She has many more to look fwd to as well!

Y’know, I don’t keep close track of PAD’s life, but I could have sworn Shana was in her freshman year or something. Isn’t she like 18 or 19? So what’s she gonna do as a career?
Geez, has it already BEEN four years since she wore that cute little fairy outfit for her high school graduation? God, it feels like yesterday.
So what exactly does Shana want to do in music? Performer? Producer? Writer? Engineer?
And ditto on all the congrats to Kathleen.
Congrats to Shana, and good luck in whatever you do.
Chris
Congrats to both Shana and Kathleen, and, for that matter, to Caroline.
Stephen Tyler can congratulate himself.
Congrats to everyone who deserves them. Two people I know have met/spoken with Steven Tyler, both saying he was a very nice man in person. Sounds cool.

Hey, that’s great. Congratulations to her, and to you, Peter, for helping her to this point.
Steven Tyler is supposed to have a summer home up in the Lake Sunapee area in New Hampshire. A coworker of mine actually lives nearby. You might be able to send a copy of the pic up there.
BTW – congrats to Shana.
Mazel Tov to Shana on her graduation. It’s a bit scary to think that the smart little girl who impressed me with her knowledge of Passover rituals at that small convention back in 1988 is now a college graduate. I’m sure she’ll have a great future.
My best wishes for Shana on her graduation, PAD. Someday, my adorable little 7 year old son’ll be on that grand podium proudly recieving his certificate too.
