A Cowboy Pete Kudo to Fox

I’ve been a strident critic of Fox and their pull the plug mentality on anything SF-related. So in the interests of fairness, I have to give props to Fox for giving a full season commitment to “Terminator.” Let’s hope that those who are reluctant to tune in figuring they don’t want to get too attached to yet another doomed Fox SF show will take that as incentive to come aboard.

Granted, the show’s been uneven, but there’s so much good stuff there that I’m hoping it finds its footing, and it’s nice that Fox is giving it the opportunity to do so.

The Cowboy Pete Live Oscar Commentary

Yes, from the blog that gave you the live snarking of the State of the Union and commercial reviews of the Superbowl, Cowboy Pete will provide ongoing commentary on the Oscars. Why? Because I’ve only seen one of the nominated films and I want to do SOMETHING to keep myself awake. Coverage will begin at 8 PM, during which time Wrangler Kath and Cowgirl Ariel will provide fashion commentary for the red carpet arrivals, after which the ol’ Cowboy himself will saddle up at 8:30 for the stultifying marathon that is the Oscars. Be here because, if you’re not, you won’t be.

UPDATE: Going live in one minute. Comments below the cut line.

COWBOY PETE PREDICTS FOR DEXTER

“Dexter” on Showtime is the old cowboy’s favorite program these days. Absolutely riveting television. The story of Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) who by day is a blood spatter analyst for the Miami PD, but at night is a serial killer who tracks down and does away with murderers who slipped through the cracks of the system. Tonight is the penultimate episode of the season and I’m going to offer my predictions below…

Cowboy Pete sniffs “Pushing Daisies”

I’ve known about this show since before ABC started promoting it. Len Wein gave me a blow by blow of the pilot at San Diego since he’d been sent an advance screener. At the time I was impressed at how effusive Len was about the show. But then when the network started promoting it harder than I’ve ever seen it push ANY show, I had to think he was on to something.

He was.
