Kathy Griffin is being pilloried for a photograph she put up where she is holding up a bloodied head of Trump.
And rightly so. It is legitimate to criticize a president as much as you want, but images of violence having been inflicted on him are too much. Both the left and most especially the right understand that.
Which is why so much condemnation was thrown at this:
Or this:
Yes, thank God the right cried out against such things.
I admire their consistency.

So, Barron Trump was scared by Kathy Griffin’s photo (http://www.mediaite.com/online/hannity-laments-how-scared-barron-trump-was-of-kathy-griffin-photo-after-showing-it/). What publicity was made of Malia and Sasha’s reactions to above and similar pictures? Similar care and concern?
I somehow doubt it. But I’m sure the right is perfectly okay with it and even has reasons why it’s not at all the same.

Oh, they do. From a FB post:
“Yeah but how many of those people had a national stage? She has a certain amount of celebrity status and platform. Joe Redneck hanging stuffed Obama in his front yard doesn’t have quite the same audience. “

That’s easy, Trump is white, and a republican.
And when Ted Nugent, a celebrity with a national stage, implicitly threatened to kill Obama, did THAT have quite the same audience?
Also, did the internet NOT work back in 2008-2016, that such effigies were not capable of reaching a broader audience? I musta missed that outage.
Jay: Yeah, I asked about Nugent, and Clint Eastwood’s bizarre chair routine which he ended with “Go ahead, make my day” – which in the movie was daring the punk to give him a reason to shoot. And Trump’s “Second Amendment solution” if Hillary should win.

No response, shockingly.
Sharing these words of wisdom.
Yes, indeed. “THEY started it!!” At some point WE have to say, ‘Enough. I’m going to be a grown-up.’ She didn’t.
Except the point of Peter’s post wasn’t that she had a right to do it because they started it. Peter explicitly criticized her in the post: “Kathy Griffin is being pilloried… And rightly so.”
The point of the post is that while many on the right are outraged now by such an action, they were silent when this kind of thing occurred in the past so long as the target was someone they opposed. That’s shameful and it’s worth pointing out.
Thanks for finally talking about > Kathy Griffin | PeterDavid.net < Loved it!
Were the images above disseminated by name celebrities? That may arguably have been a factor in the absence of outrage from the right. There are probably better examples to use, like maybe the Nugent one.
