Since Peter is in Argentina for the week and since he just did a ask me anything and since Caroline just turned 14, we thought it would be fun to do an ask me anything for us.
So feel free to do so. Please remember that Caroline will be reading this as well.
Kath
(Update: We have seen the questions so far and will be answering you this weekend. Keep them coming)

How many members of the David family does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
I am replying like a new yorker, None of your g-d business. Got a problem with that?
Before I get to my question, which is the same one for both Kath and Caroline, I have one of my own:
In Peter’s question thread, I felt I should limit myself to one question, as I knew there’d be so many. Is it OK if I ask multiple questions here? I feel I already know so much about Peter, but a lot less about the two of you.
OK, question, again, for both Kath & Caroline:
Who is your top favorite super-heroine?
Kath here: Go for it. We are answering questions all weekend.
Caroline: Ms Martian
Kath: Fallen Angel
Wonderful. I’ll put my 2nd question at the end of this very post. Thank you, dear ladies.
Caroline, I’d stopped reading Teen Titans before Ms. Martian appeared, but now I just might borrow the library copies of the trades with her appearances.
Kath, I so hope that Peter gets to tell more stories with Fallen Angel. I was disappointed to hear from him that IDW are apparently uninterested, but hope springs eternal. (Also, Fallen Angel’s “previous incarnation”, is my favorite version of one of its publisher’s “icons.”) 😉
(Kath, feel free to edit out that last part if you feel it might cause trouble. I will totally understand, but please tell Peter he has my solidarity on all things related to that publisher.)
My 2nd question:
What are your respective favorite multiple-part superhero comic book story-arcs, and your respective favorite non-superhero comic book story-arcs (or graphic novels, as the case may be?)
Which lightbulb joke was your favorite?
Caroline : How many Hogwarts students does it take to change in a light bulb? Six. One Sytherin to break it One Gryffendor to volunteer to fix it. Three Hufflepuffs to hold the ladder. And one ravenclaw to point out they they just could have used magic.
Kath: How many theater producers does it take to change a lightblub? Does it HAVE to be a lightbulb?
1) Which written work of Peter’s is your favorite?
2) What do you want Peter to bring you back from Argentina?
Caroline: Tigerheart for reasons stated lower in the thread (Kath here, sorry we are answering these backwards.)2. Whatever as long as it is cool. Even coins would be neat.
Kath: Bronsky’s Dates with Death is probably one of my favorite things he has written. Always brings a tear to my eye when I read it. 2. Himself
1 What character and/or series that Peter worked on in the past would you both like to see him work on again?
2 What Marvel character would you like to see Peter tackle (that he hasn’t worked on previously)? I always thought a DavidVerse Fantastic Four would be fun!
Caroline 1.Young Justice or X-factor 2. Scarlet Witch or Squirrel Girl
Kath 1. Fallen Angel or Young Justice 2. Doctor Strange or X-Men
What are your favorite holiday traditions? (And if you’re answering multiple questions, what are your favorite things about going to conventions?)
Caroline: I like seeing my family in Atlanta for Christmas. I like planning and creating my costume for halloween. Conventions, it is socializing with other fans and seeing the different fandoms and how they co-exist within a convention.
Kath: Christmas Eve at my folks house. We have a number of things that we do that evening that I know I have been participating in since I was born. The tradition is comforting. Conventions, well I like talking to fans. I enjoy the costumes. Spending time with likeminded people is alway fun.
Who is your favourite Muppet ?
Caroline: Kira from Dark Crystal
Kath: Bean Bunny then Kermit
Peter’s work on comics is legendary, and his run on Hulk is where I discovered him. However, he shouldn’t be sold short as a novelist. Knight Life is my favorite.
What about you guys? What is your favorite novel by Peter, and Why?
Caroline: Tigerheart. It was my first introduction to my dad’s work outside of comic books.
Kath: Q-in-law for his work for hire and Howling Mad for his own work.
Howling Mad is sitting on my bureau I will be reading it soon. Tiger heart is coming I just hear it’s very emotional and haven’t been ready for it. Q in Law I’m going to have to add to my list. Q is my favorite Star Trek villain not named Khan so it’s up my alley.
Anecdote: I used to help John de Lancie with his shopping all the time. Very nice but very straight laced.
You guys live with a legendary comic writer and spend a lot of time at comic conventions.Who is your favorite comic writer, NOT named Peter David?
Hi,
I have a daughter, her name is after Black Cat so she is Felicia.
Kath: You have a daughter, Gwen. I am so sure she is after Gwen Stacy so my question: what did you think when Peter said he liked to give the Gwendolyne name for her?
What Golden Girl is your spirit animal?
Okay… who do you think was a better Gomez Addams… Raul Julia or John Astin?
Hi Gang!
First I want to say, get well Peter! Love ya’ man! I’m glad to know Peter will likely be making it home before Christmas day. In terms of healing, there’s nothing like being home and away from the hospital and that nasty hospital food. I speak from personal experience. Best wishes to you and your family and I hope for your speedy recovery.
As for my question, I’m hoping you all can relay my question to Peter. Is there any possibility we could ever see novilizations made of your X-Factor stories? I have read many novelizations of comic books and movies. I’ve read Civil War by Stuart Moore, Infinite Crisis by Greg Cox, and movie adaptations of Star Wars. I thoroughly enjoyed every one of them. All have been adapted into audio books as well, some of those with voice actors, music, and the whole bit. It would be truly epic to hear Peter’s X-Factor stories made into Graphic audio form (www.graphicaudio.net). I’ll briefly explain my interest. I am a blind comic book fan. I mean that literally. I am completely blind, although I was able to see at one point. I collected comic books. I have a huge collection stored at my parent’s home for proof. I collected X-factor, from its inception all the way through Peter’s first run. I have fond memories of Peter’s X-Factor run. It was after his first X-Factor run that I lost my eyesight. Despite losing my sight, my interest in comics never wained. I found alternate means of accessing comics. Reading novelized forms of comic books is one way. I also listen to the various audio book adaptations. so, I suppose this is more of a request than a simple question. I would love to see novelizations made of Peter’s X-Factor stories, perhaps even an all new story? And while we may never see a movie adaptation of Peter’s X-Factor, it would be beyond epic to see a Graphic Audio adaptation made of his X-Factor stories. I can just imagine hearing Guido acted out, pure hilarity! Or how about a Graphic Audio adaptation of the Madrox limited series. The only reason I’m even aware of the greatness that is the Madrox limited series is because of this web site I came across which provides detailed summaries of all manner of X-Men and X-Men related comics. They had the Madrox series and I absolutely loved it! But back to the comic novilizations. I think there are a lot of people who would love to read novelizations of Peter’s X-Factor stories. And not just visually impaired, but also all the comic book fans, Peter David fans, and his many X-Factor fans. I’m definitely one of them. Thanks for reading my message!
