So let me see if I understand this latest Clinton thing

Some years ago, I had pneumonia. I was flat on my back for three weeks. I could barely speak. I was miserable.

Hillary Clinton has pneumonia and the worst that happens to her is that she almost faints while maintaining her public schedule. And we’re worried about HER health? While Donald Trump continues to refuse to release medical records, and IRS records, we obsess about Hillary? Are our priorities just slightly out of whack?

  1. First time the GOP has worried about a woman’s health other than to control her reproduction in…ever?

  2. Wonder if when they lose to Hillary (losing the White House, Again!) of the Republican party will wake up and realize they’ve strayed so far out of reality that they need to jettison the Religious Reich and the Teabaggers and return to center…

Of course they won’t but one can hope…

    1. I think many in the Republican Party have realized that they’ve strayed way out of reason. That’s why many prominent ones have moved away from Trump.

But although they’ve realized what their party has become, I doubt they’ll make any serious moves to fix it. They’re far more likely to shrug their shoulders and figure they have to now quadruple down on the path they’ve taken.

With another Clinton in the White House they’ll just continue the lies and obstructionism they’ve been doing for the past two generations.

      1. I wish we could vote “None of the above” and skip having a president this time…. I was hoping the third parties could get their act together and field a good candidate, this would’ve been the year they’d’ve had a shot finally with Clinton Vs. Trump being what it is…

  3. So let me see if I understand this.
When you had pneumonia you were flat on your back and could barely speak.
When Hillary has pneumonia the worst that happens is “she almost faints”.
And your conclusion from this is that she is healthier than you, NOT that it might not be pneumonia.
After all, first it was allergies, then it was too much heat and finally it is pneumonia, at least until it isn’t. And after she “almost fainted” she was taken to her daughter’s apartment. Her daughter has a toddler and an infant but apparently she concerned about infecting them.

    1. It’s called walking pneumonia. Look it up.
      .
Pneumonia can develop out of other things- including respiratory infections started by sever allergies. That’s how I got the only two cases of pneumonia I’ve ever had actually. Started as one thing, got worse, became pneumonia.
      .
Pneumonia itself is not contagious, and it’s easy to handle kids in a house with someone who has pneumonia.

      1. “It’s called walking pneumonia. Look it up.”

I did look it up. Web MD says, “Walking pneumonia is a highly contagious disease that is spread through the droplet route, according to WebMD.” ” Patients with walking pneumonia are seldom hospitalized and may go to work or school with the disease. These patients are at risk of spreading the disease to their coworkers and close companions.”

And according to reports several member of Hillary’s staff have been sick.

And since people with walking pneumonia “are seldom hospitalized and may go to work or school with the disease” Peter’s praise for her stamina seems exaggerated and overstated.

  4. The priorities that are out of whack belong solely to the media. And I am pretty sure a lot of it is sexism.

  5. Oh, for heaven’s sake. It was just a little overheating.

In the low 80’s, with low humidity and a breeze.

OK, so it was allergies. No big deal.

That led to a collapse and her being carried into a waiting SUV.

Nope, it was pneumonia. Diagnosed two days ago — we just forgot to mention it. And we didn’t bother to revise her schedule, it was such a little deal. Then she collapsed, so we took her to a hospital.

Whoops, not a hospital, her daughter’s apartment. Where, 90 minutes later, she’s just fine and hugging a little girl. And no worrying about Hillary either being contagious or having a compromised immune system and getting something from the little girl — that’s not allowed.

Hillary’s first instinct, when confronted with adversity, is to lie. It’s also her second, third, fourth, and fifth instinct. Simply telling the truth is not an option for her.

Luckily, she has an army of sycophants who will fiercely tout her first lie, second lie, and so on, sneering and insulting those who don’t subscribe slavishly to the lie of the day.

    1. Yes, Dr. Tea, it’s possible to get overheated in such weather and wearing the clothing she was wearing when one has pneumonia. Perhaps you’ve heard of the word ‘fever’ before. yes?
      .
And your attempt to sting with your last two paragraphs might have more power were they not from someone who had for years his nose so far up Sarah Palin’s ášš that he was defending and championing here even after all but the most slow witted on the right had figured out that she was a liar, a scam artist, and a joke.
      .
Supporting Trump by the way? Given your belief that it’s okay to write articles using sexist slang and calling women you politically disagree with çûņŧš (the other reason nothing you say has any value), I suppose we should make room in the basket for you.

  6. It was so hot and humid in the New York area this past weekend that I almost passed out, and I was dressed in shorts and a t-shirt, and I’m a lot younger than Hillary Clinton. Not that it matters; a quick scan of the posts so far shows that pretty much everybody on this thread has their mind well made up. By my reckoning, it will start to get personal in about seven or eight posts, as it always done whenever Peter starts up a Trump/Clinton thread.

    1. The reports from New York say that Saturday was, indeed, brutal. However, on Sunday morning, it was in the high 80’s/low 70’s, with little humidity and a nice breeze.

And it was on Sunday that Hillary had her “episode.”

      1. She was, as anyone who thinks about it should know, debilitated by the pneumonia, and quite possibly dehydrated.
        .
I can tell you, from personal experience, that it is, indeed, possible to be overcome by heat and dehydration under the sort of conditions you describe.

  7. Actually, “pneumonia” is a symptom, not a specific disease. (As is “arthritis”)

You can develop it for any number of reasons – exposure to toxic gases (or the Ground Zero crud), any one of a number of viral or bacterial infections, other things.

    Quoting Wikipedia:

Pneumonia is an inflammatory condition of the lung affecting primarily the microscopic air sacs known as alveoli. Typical signs and symptoms include a varying severity and combination of productive or dry cough, chest pain, fever, and trouble breathing, depending on the underlying cause.

Pneumonia is usually caused by infection with viruses or bacteria and less commonly by other microorganisms, certain medications and conditions such as autoimmune diseases.

Risk factors include other lung diseases such as cystic fibrosis, COPD, and asthma, diabetes, heart failure, a history of smoking, a poor ability to cough such as following a stroke, or a weak immune system.

Diagnosis is often based on the symptoms and physical examination. Chest X-ray, blood tests, and culture of the sputum may help confirm the diagnosis.

in Hillary’s case, we have been told, it was a mild bacterial, non-contagious variety.

    1. “in Hillary’s case, we have been told, it was a mild bacterial, non-contagious variety.”

I think the operative phrase in that statement is, “we have been told”. We have been told many things, most of which contradict what we were told before.

And if she did indeed have a “mild bacterial, non-contagious variety” Peter’s praise for her stamina is not justified since his pneumonia was obviously much worse.

      1. We have been told many things, most of which contradict what we were told before.

Apparently this is only a problem when it comes to Hillary Clinton this campaign…
