  1. Yesterday I got:

Assault on New Olympus #1: Increbible Hercules is one of my favorite Marvel comics right now & this special is just great. Classic Herc vs. Spidey fight (great sound effects. hehe), funny moments (why are you naked?), very intersting set-up, and a great back-up feature with Agents of Atlas (the regular Herc title just got even better with the addition of AofA, imo). The best comic this week!

Ultimate Spiderman: The new issue. Very interesting. We get some hints about the Shroud, interesting Peter Parker moments, and an uh-oh cliffhanger. Really good issue.

Amazing Spiderman: the new issue. It was good to see Kaine & especially Ben Reilly again, but other than that, I could have skipped this issue. It just wasn’t very good & did not feel like the end of an arc. Cliffhanger city is more like it. lol.

  2. First post! Hoody hoo!

As those who regocnize the above call may have guessed, my comic this week was KNIGHTS OF THE DINNER TABLE #155. This issue had the Knights at (or going to) GaryCon, the big HackMaster convention. (Mildly ironic, since PAD’s column in CBG dealt with his favorite convention experiences.) The issue didn’t advance any of the current storylines, but it was pretty funny — and I want to see what happens next!

  3. As I’m a hard cover reader, can you let me know if “X-Factor: Nation X” one-shot will be reprinted in the HC after X-Factor: Overtime

This is listed as having 45-50 and the Layla Miller One-Shot.

I really wanted to read the interview on CBR but too many spoilers for me.

    1. No, it won’t be reprinted in the upcoming XF hardcover. That’s a little soon, even for Marvel.

  4. I grabbed the latest issue of the underappreciated series Official Marvel Index. A fun way to read summaries of comics. You can take a walk down memory lane, find out what happens in back issues you can’t find, or get the gist of issues you never want to read (this is the case for me with some of the Mackie and Byrne Amazing Spider-Man stuff examined in the latest issue). Also looks at characters’ chronologies, plus and notes discrepanices.

  5. Loved X Factor…loved your version of old Doom…cannot wait until #200. Any news on a NF novel?

  6. Bought a few things but so far I’ve only read Secret Six #15 and Doom Patrol #4. Secret Six has John Ostrander doing a Deadshot story, which always makes for good comics. Doom Patrol has the return (of sorts) of the new Doom Patrol, which was kind of fun, but also annoying since it doesn’t look like Giffen did his homework. Unless Val was killed off in the last few months in a book I wasn’t reading, anyway, which I suppose is possible. The Metal Men back-up remains charming.

But the main reason I’m here is because I just got Fallen Angel #4, which reminded me that I haven’t seen 5up solicited. Did I miss an announcement about the fate of the series somewhere?

  7. New Teen Titans Archives Vol. 2.

Oh, hello. First time poster. I stopped reading mainstream comics during the 90s Blight, but now my children are 8 and 10, and I’m picking up some collections I missed while I was gone.

I’ve been reliably informed that PAD is one of the best contemporary superhero writers, and I’ve seen scans with cracking good dialouge to back up that claim. I’m looking forward to trying some collections of his work.
