I’m curious if this was always Lee’s origin, or something you came up with during her existence.
According to the email from Gosh! (my local comic shop), the new “Fallen Angel” issue didn’t arrive last week and isn’t expected this week either. I’ve had it pre-ordered with them for months, so hopefully they will get it in due course, and I am looking forward to reading it eventually…
Although you may have preordered it, it’s entirely possible they never put the order through. Having worked extensively with retailers, distributors and warehouses, it’s generally been my experience that when books simply don’t appear, the majority of the time (not all the time, but the majority) the retailer blew it and tries to pass the blame along. Now it’s possible that’s not the case here…but it wouldn’t surprise me. I can’t even begin to tell you the number of fans who told me horror stories about “Soulsearchers” in which they tried to order the book and retailer responses ranged from “Oh, we tried to order it but couldn’t” to “It doesn’t exist.”

Forgot to mention my favorite part of FA #1: when Juris is starting the transfer of power, and Jubal is all “I won’t let you down, Dad! I’ll be the bestest magistrate ever! Yay team–wait, CURSE? WTF?”
Loved it, loved it, loved it. 🙂
Picked up my copy a couple of days ago at the Local Comic Shop (yes, they had several copies racked) – upon going over my haul for that day the owner/cashier remarked on “Fallen Angel” – “Looking forward to reading this one.”
I’m unfamiliar with the previous series, but picked this book up based on positive word of mouth. Haven’t gotten around to reading this week’s books yet (New Year’s plans and all) but I’ll try and pop back by and let you know what I think.
Dear Mr. David,
I just finished reading Fallen Angel #1 and loved it. (I was a fan of the DC version and was not pleased when they cancelled the book.) The artwork was great and the story intriguing and engrossing. I have to admit I was surprised by the end of the story. I was one of those who had just assumed that Lee was the former Linda Danvers of your Supergirl run. I am curious as to whether or not this plot was the original intent during your DC days, or you had to change the direction of the character once she could no longer be part of the DC Universe. Regardless, I welcome the return of Fallen Angel and look forward to where you are taking her.
Hey there Peter,
Just wanted to let you know FA #1 volume 2 looks dynamite. I enjoyed your reading of the script at Dragoncon and when I saw it today at my local comics shop I snagged it straightaway. Keep up the great work!

Hi Peter,
is it perhaps possible to tell us whether this was always intented to be Lee’s origin, or that you had Supergirl’s story in mind?
I can imagine you had to tweak her origin when DC decided to cancel the book and.
Great story and terrific artwork, by the way. I always love how your characters seem so self-conscious about the weird situations they end up in.
1Hey, I sent you an email with the PBR review. Did ya get it? I will put the link here for ya.
Great new beginning.

One of our major retailers here in Phoenix seems to have sold a good number of copies. One store only had the Retailer Incentive cover left (was I ripped off at $15, though), and a couple of others only had a couple of issues left.
I did find it somewhat amusing to see an advertisement for the DC trade paperback, though.

Peter, I found a creator profile on a comicbook podcast I listen to. I haven’t heard it yet, but it’s #20 of Comic Book Noise. Here’s the link to the site I found it on. http://podcastpickle.com/casts/?2891
