Will be heading tomorrow to Crescent City Convention in New Orleans. That’s one of the reasons I won’t be coming to the Wizard Chicago Convention (the other being that, well, they never asked me to.) The nice thing about CCC is that it’s pretty much an SF con. I’m starting to get invited to more of those. That’s pretty cool.
Next convention after that will be Dragon*Con in Atlanta. Should be an exciting endeavor.
PAD

Since I’ve never been to one of these conventions, what do you do there?
Today I am having back surgery, which is one of the reasons that I am not going to the Wizard Chicago Convention. Though, not as enjoyable as the CCC, I’m hping that it will be as beneficial for me.
Have fun at the CCC! Safe travels.
Fred
Heh, what perfect timing for me to have moved from Chicago to New Orleans. I’ll definitely be there with FALLEN ANGEL trade in hand. 🙂
Peter
You probably know this already but there’s a double-page spread in the Uk newspaper The Independent today talking about different blogs and giving samples. They’ve reprinted blogs from ‘A Call Girl’, ‘An Actress’ 9Gillian Anderson), ‘A Politician’ and ‘An Author’. The author in question is you and the post is your Animal Husbandry post. They’ve included your URL too.
John
Here’s a link to the Independent article that John mentioned:

Congratulations Peter, you came in after the seven-month baby, but before Gillian Anderson.
The title should have been “FIXIN’ TO GO”
This just gives me one more reason to be annoyed with the PTB at Wizard Publications. My wife and I go to “WizardWorld Chicago” (sic) largely because it’s an easy drive, and we can’t afford to go to San Diego, Atlanta, or Detroit every year. But, year after year, I am disappointed to find that PAD is not there. And why not? Because he’s not invited?!?! WTF?
Anyway, hope you have a productive time at CCC, and maybe Wizard will finally get their šhìŧ together next year.
Only been to Crescent City Con once many years ago, it was a nice convention, but I can usually only afford one con each year.
That con is DraconCon, so I and my group are looking forward to seeing you there. I wonder though, will you be joining on the yearly ‘Star Trek: Enterprise: The Verdict’ panel, or avoiding it this year for fear of being misunderstood by trek uberfans?
Hi to everyone, excuse me for may enghish but i would like to know is going to be in spain in octouber in gijon comic convention. Thanks.
Jose.
Hi to everyone, excuse me for my enghish but i would like to know if mr. david is going to be in spain in octouber in gijon comic convention. I´ve got good memories from his last visit to spain.
Thanks.
Jose.
PD. Sorry for may last post.
DragonCon? Sweet! I knew this whole ‘moving to Atlanta’ thing was going to pay off sooner or later!
Remember to detox after coming back from the Big Queasy, PAD… you can pick up all sorts of bizzare bugs there, just from walking down the street. Not a tourist destination for the faint of heart…
hmm is CCC what use to be the New Orleans Science Fiction & Fantasy Festival? Always loved that con!.
See you at Dragon Con, Peter.
Bobby
PAD,
Make sure to take in some blues music while down in the Big Easy.
Be Cool.
Oh, and when you have free time, go down to Bubba Gump’s on Decatur and ask for Karl’s table. Say hi to my gorgeous husband for me. 🙂
Wow, Guest of Honor at the last Crescent City Con. Just make sure people know thet were planning to stop having them before they named you GoH and not as a result of that inspired decision. It occurs to me that we need to get you back to Dallas for FenCon one of these years. (Ask Larry Niven about us, for example.)
Go to Deanie’s out in Metairie for good fish!!!

PAD, any chance of you going to the Heroes Con next year in Charlotte?
Too bad about Chicago, I had a blast and I would have made a point of seeing any panel you were on.
If it helps, the announcement and image of the new X-Factor run during the “House of M – Before and After” panel got one of the biggest rounds of applause.

Oooh..i loved going there (grew up in Metairie)
