Not really caring what happens there, because I’m convinced none of these guys can beat Bush.

Kathleen signed up for a Yahoo account four days ago. Yesterday she tried to log on and was told there was a problem with her mail server. She tried to log on once again…and was informed that her account had been canceled. No specific reason was given, although the automated message told her it was one of three: (1) extended non-use of the account (nooooo), (2) she’d requested it discontinued herself (nooooo), or (3) an unnamed violation of terms of service. Best guess: In less than three days, someone hacked into her account and used it to send around spam, and they punished Kathleen for it with no mechanism for customer service follow-up. No “We shut down your account, but here’s how to write to us or phone us to discuss it or figure out what went wrong.” Instead it’s simply, Boom, you’re gone.

Is it possible to do some digging and find contact info for Yahoo? Yeah. But this is certainly a crap-ášš way to treat customers.

Dave, I have been told, is off the respirator and being moved out of the ICU. So that’s, obviously, all very positive.

A number of people have been asking me about the Tribute book being organized in order to help with Dave and Paty’s expenses. Any pros interested in contributing should e-mail: cliffordmeth@yahoo.com. Cliff is the one organizing it, or at least organizing the one that I know about.

I’m looking to get in touch with a retailer I knew in the Vegas area named Lyn Pederson (whose name I’m probably spelling wrong and therefore apologize in advance.)

I’ve been informed that Dave Cockrum has been hospitalized at the VA hospital in the Bronx for nearly two weeks. He’s on a respirator and has pneumonia.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Dave on a number of issues of “Soulsearchers and Company,” plus I seem to recall he did some pencilling on some obscure mutant book years ago. We extend our hopes to Dave and Paty for more positive news soon in regards to his condition.
