In all honesty, though, the Yankees deserved the win, much as it makes me twitch to type that. At least as much as any team which pays a single player (A-Rod) more than some teams (the Pirates) pay their entire roster deserves it. The Phillies just weren’t playing like they wanted it, such as allowing the Anti-Chr… I mean, Johnny Damon, to steal second *and* third because they weren’t covering it. The Yankees simply played better than the Phillies, despite all of Cliff Lee’s and Chase Utley’s best efforts.

And I never thought I’d EVER say this after the 2003 ALCS, but… shoulda left Pedro in longer!

This is why I wanted the Phils to win-at least they celebrate in another state.
I guess there’s a bright side: I’m spared of having to forgive Philadelphia for 1980, which is how I justified pulling for them. Grrr! 😀
