  1. If he wouldn’t laugh, then he truly takes himself too seriously. Considering the “Watchmen Babies: V for Vacation” bit from Simpsons, I’m betting he’d laugh though.

  2. Hey PAD — has anyone else reported to you trouble with your posts coming through RSS readers since your blog was redesigned?

  3. I didn’t make it through the theme song.

Wonder what Mark Evanier thinks of that?

  4. HHHHHHAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!

I also recommend folks check out this week’s PVP cartoon http://www.pvponline.com which is telling the WATCHMEN story with the cast of the comic book replaced with characters from newspaper comics. Gotta love Dr. Manhattan’s speech! I won’t reveal who they replaced characters with. I *will* say you should start reading from Monday to read ’em from start to finish.

  5. That was hilariously twisted in its sheer unabashed wrongness.

I’m going to go torture my friendslist with it now.

  6. LOL.
Actually the Watchmen does show Veidt getting a proposal to make action figure line of that world’s super heroes, and perhaps a cartoon. I guess that’s what it would have looked like.

  7. Peter David: I honestly don’t know if Alan Moore would laugh or cry.
Luigi Novi: Neither. I think he’d have a heart attack.

Interestingly, the vid depicts the Watchmen as they appear in the comic book (which I’m currently reading), but Silk Spectre II’s costume is the one from the movie, albeit with the flowing sleeves from the comic book.

  8. Re: Silk Spectre’s costume. I’m not seeing the similarities to the movie design. The ‘dress’ over top of it is unique to the comics. I suppose the dress’s yellow tint there makes it look SORT of like the movie design, but it’s definitely closer to the comic look. Does the movie design even have that choker?

  9. I would assume the same as Rich Lane that considering his appearance on The Simpsons were Milhouse asks him to sign his copy of Watchmen Babies he would laugh at this. Though I must say the director has really fought to keep the movie as true to the comic as he could, given any time you change medias you lose something in the translation and also the movie exec’s involvement. Moore has quite a sense of humor that comes through well in his comics.

  10. That was brilliant. I’m not sure I even caught all the in-jokes. Will have to watch again.

Was particularly pleased with : 3 Dr’s in bed reference, John’s cancer reference, Ozymandias catching the Comedian, and Rorsharch petting the dogs. There’s probably more but I was laughing too much to get them

  11. One other bit no one’s mentioned: Comedian wanting a romamntic kiss from Silk Spectre.

  12. Alan Moore would probably laugh. I understand he has a decent sense of humor.
Anyway, this guy also has this up on his youtube account, where half the posters are asking “OMG is this realz?” and the other half are desperately trying to convince them that it is. What is it about the internet that makes us such lying bášŧárdš?
He’s also got an “American Akira” up there that I found rather entertaining.

  13. Whenever I think that the fine art of parody might be dead, something like this comes along. I deftly skewers BOTH the Saturday Morning Cartoon mentality AND Watchmen at the same time. Bravo. I’d like to think the guy who did this is destined for great things.

  14. Thank you for sharing that interesting bit ofOH MY GOD I’VE GONE BLIND AOP;48YT0Y96QER

I suspect that if I’m not careful, the next time I read through the graphic novel I’ll “hear” Rorschach speaking in the “I’m WACKY” voice.
