Shana’s Attempt to Refurbish a Movie Theater

My eldest daughter, Shana, and her husband, Tim, are trying to get a business started in Jacksonville, FL. They are attempting to raise money to refurbish a local movie theater and turn it into a showcase. I am extremely proud of her efforts and would love to see her succeed. You can not only find details of their endeavors (and how you can contribute) here…

Shana’s Dream

…but you can also watch a TV news piece and see her talking about it.

Shana on TV

She’s got a ways to go to her goal and there are deadlines involved. So this can’t be one of those, “That seems nice; let me think about it for a month.” She needs people to step in and do so now. If it’s any incentive, I can offer this: For every donation of $500, I will send the donor a piece of artwork from one of my stories, autographed by yours truly. So let’s get it going, people. Please help my little girl realize her dream.

Well, THAT was Exhausting

We just completed the drive back from Dragon*Con through an unceasing barrage of rain all along the Eastern seaboard. Sixteen hours of driving on a trip that normally we can do between 12 and 13 hours.

Once my brain is functioning better I’ll do a full write up.

Kath’s Art Work for DragonCon 2011

With Peter’s kind permission I am posting photos of what I have in the Art Show this year at DragonCon. We have lost count of the number of people who say after the show “Gee, I wished I had known that you had X in the show. I would have bought it”

The Art Show at DragonCon is in the Hyatt next to Artist Alley.

The Class of 2011 for the DragonCon Art Show.

I am putting more photos under a cut of the individual pieces.

I will be selling a couple of Fluzzies and a Ship Ship at Peter’s Table as well in Artist Alley so stop by and see them and him there

CBLDF/Planet Comics update

Here at BID, we’re starting to get the first rumblings of the response generated by my column about Planet Comics, the comic store in Oklahoma that is facing prosecution for allegedly distributing pornographic material (i.e., comic books by such publishers as Verotik and Eros).
