In Orlando for Oasis 22, a science fiction convention. I’m the writer guest of honor. Such honors always make me nervous because if I’m the main guest and the convention is underattended, then I assume it’s my fault.
Did a store appearance today at Coliseum of Comics. Nice folks. Really nice store. Spent a little time at Disney; Kathleen and Caroline spent a LOT of time at Disney. Will swing by Magic Kingdom tomorrow. Then it’s off to the convention. Hi ho, hi ho.
PAD

Wow, I didn’t know about this. I’ll definitely swing by.
Have you been to Seaworld? It’s less than a mile from my house, so I’ve seen Shamu twice in the last year due to visiting family members. The Pirate (and sea lion) show is really fun.
Ehh…. I help run the Winnipeg con. At this point, we could run a yellow dog as guest and still pull 500. A really high-level guest might SPIKE the memberships, but I think a regular con tends to be more about the economy and it’s internal strengths and weaknesses than the guests.
Coliseum is a great store. I live about 3 hours from Orlando and make the trip to the store whenever I am in town.
Trek alert for you PAD-there is a small prop shop in one of the Disney parks. (I am blanking on which)and as of a month ago they had a prop Tribble from the DS9 Trials and Tribbleations episode.
LOL Figures, the convention is the week after my Orlando vacation… Oh well 🙂
BTW, I heard that the new restaurant, Sanaa, at the Animal Kingdom Villas was terrific. The food there has an Indian influence.
I also know a good Spanish/Cuban restaurant in Celebration if you are interested.
Sorry ’bout the rain.
But we do kinda need it.
It was nice meeting you in person at the con, PAD.
