Michelle Wolf

So let me see if I understand this.

Comedienne Michelle Wolf is being castigated by Trump and his supporters, and even the press, for presenting a monologue during the White House Correspondents dinner that was deemed too mean and crossing the line.

Seriously?

Trump is condemning her?

Trump has dropped the level of discourse in this country to depths that it has never known, and HE is complaining?

The press barely reacts anymore to Trump’s non-stop verbal assaults on anyone and everyone, driving us to worry about nuclear war because he thinks calling a demented despot names is a good idea. To say nothing of the insulting nicknames that he hammered against everyone who ran against him, reducing the debates to something akin to squabbles in an elementary school playground. And THEY are complaining after doing nothing to challenge him over his behavior.

What the hëll, people.

All Wolf did was give as good as others have gotten, but boo hoo, the press thinks she went to far. Screw you guys. Trump goes too far on any day ending in the letter “y,” and the press does nothing about it aside from reporting it and then moving on to something else. And Trump, the insult president who doesn’t even have the balls to attend one of these dinners, thinks the entire thing should be shut down.

I’m warning everyone right now: when Trump decides to shut down the White House press briefing room, you don’t get to claim that it’s because Michelle Wolf was mean. It’ll be because you weren’t mean enough.

  1. Its the outrage game. Both parties play it, but man are the Republicans really hypocrites this time around.

I am sad the press does not do more to stand up to Trump, but knowing several people in the industry, many feel that there is a perception that the press is anti Trump (in reality they are just anti lies and misinformation). So they wimp out when it comes to defending this very funny comedian.

    1. They are hypocrites all the time around. Trump does things that, if Obama did them, the GOP would be howling in fury. But Trump gets a free pass.

  2. I’ve see the clip now that seems to be at the center of this faux controversy, and it is right in the butter zone of the kind of humor that is typical of these events. In other words: There’s nothing to see here.

  3. For what it’s worth I wrote the WHCA and called Margaret Talev out for her cowardly back peddling.

  4. I have two words for Michelle Wolf, the same two words I had when I first saw her stand-up act last year: Marry me.

    1. Well, hey, I tweeted a link to the column right at her, so if she comes here and reads your comment, who knows? Invite me to the wedding if it happens.

  5. If it wasn’t obvious how screwed we were already, there should be no more denying it now: we have a press that cares more about ratings than doing their jobs properly.

  6. I love how the people that have been saying things like-

    Suck it up, buttercup.
    Poor little triggered snowflakes…
    It’s just locker room talk,
    Fûçk your feelings, snowflakes.
We finally have a real man as President.
    .
-whenever Trump attacks a man by calling his wife a loser, attacks a woman’s looks, attacks a female reporter by saying she was bleeding because of a botched facelift, talks about blood coming out of a female reporter’s “whatever” because he was stung by her not softballing him, or calls Chuck Todd a “sleepy eyed son of a bìŧçh” are all crying and expressing their fake outrage over Michelle Wolf pointing out that Conway and Huckabee are liars.
    .
Seriously, it’s not like that was even some big secret.
    .
I also love seeing how fast they went for the victim card as by claiming that Michelle Wolf was attacking Huckabee’s physical appearance. Well, no, jáçkáššëš, she didn’t. But even if she had, maybe they would look less like whining hypocrites if they showed the same level of outrage when Trump actually does attack women over their appearance.

As has been the case for about 35 years.

    1. It’s one thing to just ignore the nonsense coming out of the White House, but it’s another to completely debase themselves as they have done over the last couple of years.

  8. To quote Will McAvoy from Aaron Sorkins BRILLIANT opening scene from The Newsroom (and forgive the language), “If Liberal’s are so fûçkìņg smart, how come they lose so gøddámņ always?”.
When did the Democrats and left leaning liberals become such f’n pansies?!?
Al Franken WAS NOT a rapist, but as a result of some tasteless, jokey photos, he was fired outta his Senate seat on a rocketsled faster than anything Wile E. Coyote could’ve bought from Acme!
And the kicker is, his own party lit the fuse!!
Meanwhile, a pedophile Republican, Roy Moore, was DANGEROUSLY close to winning a Senate seat! WTF kinda nonsense is that?!?
I’ll tell you why. It’s that the right has a LOUDER and STRONGER (albeit WRONGER) voice in this country these days.
Air America? Yeah, decent try, epic fail. Limbaugh and Hannity’s shows shouted you off the airwaves.
Look, until the Democrats and Liberals and left leaners can grow a pair and find a voice, these bullies are gonna show up in the schoolyard EVERY.ÐÃMNÊÐ.DAY. and DEMAND your lunch money.
Liberals? They fork it over and whine.
Isn’t it time, hëll PAST time to fight fire with FIRE!!!????
Or are you comfortable with “losing so gøddámņ always”?
Oh and P.S. posting stories and (mostly) unfunny meme’s to yr like-minded friends on Facebook is USELESS!!
Stop playing to the band, dummy.
    (ends rant. drops mic.)
