This is Food Allergy Awareness Week.
Until just now, I was unaware of that.
Perhaps last week should have been Food Allergy Awareness Week Awareness Week, in order to promote awareness of Food Allergy Awareness Week.

Perhaps it should have been…but who would have known?
Yeah, for some reason, Food Allergy Awareness Week Awareness Week is in October. That’s never made much sense.
I was unaware of that and plan on remaining blissfully so….
LALALALALALALALALALALALALALALA! (fingers firmly planted in ears)
Today I was buying some gluten-free cookies and got into a discussion explaining Celiac’s to someone. Apparently I subconsciously knew it was Food Allergy Awareness Week.
Hopefully people will take advantage of Food Allergy Awareness Month to become aware of the fact they DON’T actually have food allergies: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/12/health/research/12allergies.html?src=me&ref=general

Food Allergy Awareness Week…
.
Smells like a steaming pile to me. Just another group of people who expect me to conform to their lifestyle choices / restrictions (I’m speaking from experience so, though I might come off as an insensitive prìçk, it’s not entirely true).

It’s much like Breast Cancer Awareness. They want us all to wear pink ribbons or t-shirts as though only women can get breast cancer. I guess the men don’t matter, even though men are at greater risk of colon cancer than women are of breast cancer. So for the month of October I make a brown circle around my left eye. When someone in a pink decoration (fashion statement) wants my time, money, or attention I explain my position and show them my brown eye. Works every time.

Food Allergy Awareness Week Awareness Week? I need a week’s notice for that.
Well, presumably it’s not your job to be aware of Food Allergy Awareness Week, it’s merely the job of those responsible for making people aware of food allergies to spend Food Allergy Awareness Week making people aware of food allergies. If by end of said week you’re still not aware of food allergies, well, clearly they’re not doing their job well.
