Easter eggs on Spider-Man 2

I have the DVD for Spidey 2 (don’t ask how) and found some fun Easter Eggs. They may already well have been posted elsewhere, but if not, here they are. Both that I’ve found are on Disk 2:

Click on the “Gallery section. Once you get to the screen that talks about Alex Ross being commissioned, click “Up” until the little spider-sense lines emerge from Spidey’s head on the left. Hit “enter” and it takes you to an out take of Alfred Molina, in full Ock gear, singing the first verse of “Rich Man” while the tentacles move in synch.

Click on the “Making the Amazing” section. When you’re in the menu, click “Up” and it causes Doc’s right arm (his right, left on the screen) to light up green. Hit “enter” and it takes you to a behind-the-scenes rehearsal sequence with Sam Raimi and Molina that’s so funny, I don’t want to spoil it.

  1. c’mon Peter, just spill how you have it a few days early. No one will know. It won’t affect anything. And everything, I restate, EVERYTHING will be fine in the end.

I ain’t buyin Spidey 2, even though I loved the movie. Gonna wait for the innevitable trilogy box set. Just thought you’d like to know that, Peter old pal, cuz I know that deep down, you do really care about your fans DVD purcahsing habits.

  2. Most of the mom and pops record stores get their shipments the same as the Big Ones…Best Buy, etc…only difference is that the big chain stores will not sell the DVD’s before the listed sale date.

I get all of my DVD’s early…Bourne Supremacy is currently in my DVD player as we speak but it is not supposed to be out until Dec.

    Go Figure.

  3. PAD,

This isnt so much in reaction to the Spidey DVD’s, actually, it isnt about that at all. I’m writing in hopes that in a future posting, you might give us some insight into the future of the comic book industry, why things are as bad as they are in terms of readership, and what could be done to turn it around.

    Just a nudge,

    Kevin Ryan

  4. Speaking of getting (and finishing) things early, I got ‘After the Fall’ last weekend. And I FINISHED two days ago. I’m not going to spoil anything here, but the book was pretty good.

Now where is the next one.

P.S.: When are we going to see the book in which Wes Crusher, Ben Sisko, Mark McHenry and Kes play poker and discuss what it is like to be a God?

  5. I think it is going to be Mrs. Hollis (sp?) the one who found the measuring cup in the rubble of Edie’s house and threatened Susan with Blackmail

  6. We all KNOW how, Peter. You work for Marvel Comics. You’re a major celebrity in the comic book world. But most importantly you’re a WRITER–and the writer of both Spider-Man movie novelizations.

  7. The DVD has been out for almost a week here in Spain. There is another easter egg in disk 1. In the menu where you can see the spider-suit in the trash can (can’t remember what menu it is, I don’t have the disk with me), highlight thelast option before back to main menu, then press right (nothing will be highlighted) and then up. A green spider will show on the trashcan. Press OK and you’ll see Sam Raimi’s funny introduction for japanese press months before the release of teh movie.

    If my english stinks, sorry.

I think easter eggs are the same for all regions. I had already found the ones PAD tells.

  8. “Hit “enter” and it takes you to an out take of Alfred Molina, in full Ock gear, singing the first verse of “Rich Man” while the tentacles move in synch.”

Oooh. I was hoping that would be there! It was mentioned they did this durring the press interviews for the movie (Molina was in rehersals for Fiddler at the time)

  9. While searching for the Fiddler easter egg, I found another Ock-related one. Click up on the documentary menu to highlight one of Doc Ock’s tentacles. You’ll see a special guest giving Alfred Molina some last minute motivation. Cute.

  10. Delayed response, but the Easter Egg on Disc 1 isn’t at the screen with the trash can.

It’s under the Commentaries section. Go to the On/Off area under Technical Commentaries and then move the cursor to the right for the spider to show up.
Note: when using my computer, I was able to highlight the egg, but not get it to show up when using the cursor.
