Well, we seem to be having a small real-life crisis as the apartment in Boston where Shana *thought* she was going to be moving is suddenly no longer available. Which means, come September, she could have difficulties.
If anyone knows of a two-bedroom flat in a decent neighborhood in or near Boston, easily accessible to the “T”, for around $1100, please drop an e-mail to me at padguy@aol.com.
Thanks.

Good luck to her. She’ll need it.
My office-mate has been looking for such apartments for months. Best he could find was $1400-$1500 for a 2-bedroom flat in a good neighborhood near Cambridge. I think the neighborhood was Newton.
If I could find a decent 2-bedroom for $1100, I’d move there myself. 😉 I am actually in the 2-bedroom apartment hunt for Sept 1 myself. It’s a pretty rough market, but the best resource I’ve had is

To get even close to your price range, you’ll probably want to look across the river in Cambridge near Harvard and Kendall Squares, or in Somerville near Porter and Davis Squares. Those are good, “T” accessible areas, but distant enough from the city to lower the rent.
Hope that helps!
I was in this situation last year, trying to find an apartment for the girlfriend. I advise you to start drinking heavily. Failing that, try the Somerville area, which is pretty good.
Great!!! I like your site!!!
