Another One Bites the Dust

I’m finishing up proofreading the sequel to “KNIGHT LIFE” and am turning it in to my editor this afternoon. Haven’t decided on the new title yet, although we’ve pretty much got it narrowed down to either KNIGHT TIME or O, HOLY KNIGHT.

I contracted for an 80,000 word manuscript. It came in at 114,000. So Penguin-Putnam got some bang for their buck.

  1. I’m looking forward to reading it. That is, if I can actually find a copy and if I can actually afford it if I do… Who knew moving house would be so time consuming and so dámņ expensive?

(Okay, so I knew… Doesn’t mean I have to like it though.)

  2. My two cents: Knight Time is cool sounding and also looks similar enough to Knight Life that readers of the first book will quickly make the connection. O, Holy Knight is..well, it makes the novel sound like one of those Left Behind kind of books.

  3. I just want to say, I also prefer the title Knight Time. The other option sounds more like a carol you would sing at Christmas.

I am very much looking forward to it, also because it is big. I always welcome it when I can get quality and quantity in the same package :-).

  4. Knight Time gets my vote. Sounds like it’s time for the King to come forward and lead his people. O Holy Knight sounds like a life story of a saint.

  5. You missed a bet — should have given them 80,000, told them it was a trilogy, and that you were 34,000 into book 3.

Oh, I just got a title. Knight in Turn. (Sound it out and get the presidential connection…)

  6. I vote Knight Time, too. 🙂

And I’m wondering, will you ever write more Psi-Man books? 🙂 (I was so happy that they reprinted the original 6, cause I never got to find all the books before) Or how about more Howling Mad? (Yes, I know about the short story. Now lets see a story about their “pup”, as a teen! ^_^ )
