My first episode of “Young Justice” definitely scheduled

It’s slated to air this Friday, November 18th, on Cartoon Network at 6:30 PM Eastern time. For those interested, IMDB has an episode description up.

  1. Woohoo! A Halloween episode for Thanksgiving! I can’t help but look forward to the Thanksgiving episode for Christmas, and of course this Valentine’s day we’ll get the inevitable Christmas episode! 😉

    1. The Math. club I sponsor has our annual Christmas party near Hallowe’en and our Hallowe’en party near Christmas …
because 31 OCT = 25 DEC, of course.

    2. Sadly, scheduling has a habit of making Halloween episodes/issues/events appear after Halloween has come and gone. Baseball often pushed THE SIMPSONS Halloween specials (my favorite episodes of that series) to November. Also, in the comic book THE KNIGHTS OF THE DINNER TABLE a Halloween storyline — and the Knights showing up in costume — started with issue 180, which got released last week.

My advice: Don’t sweat the scheduling and simply enjoy the post-Halloween Halloween fun!

  2. Can’t wait – loving this series. DC’s New 52 should have included this as the new cannon “Young” team. I love the blend of Titans/YJ history & mythos.

  3. PAD, I just told my 9 year-old son the plot and title of that episode. His reponse? “AWESOME!”

I’ve been sharing a good portion of the comic with him since the show started, carefully editing here and there (for example, the first big Harm fight issue now ends when the Justice League shows up). It’s been very fun for both of us, so I’d also like to thank you for a small bit of father/son bonding.

Here’s hoping you get to write more episodes (and issues of the new comic!)

  4. Loving the show myself too. Just watched the last one with a friend from his HDD… CN Spain is notoriously stingy and didnt even air JLU or the whole TeenTitans show.
    .
When we started watching it I kind of expected it beign yours, with the whole shrink setting. It was a fine episode but I was kind of dissapointed it wasn’t you referencing yourself. I think its a compliment to your writing when people have things youve written so long ago still carved in their memories.

    1. Not just that apparent riff X-Factor #87, but the other plot line about YJ getting the Supercycle from the New Gods was straight out of PAD’s YJ comic run.

  5. Can’t wait to see this someday. I’m waiting for the DVD release of the complete season 1. But I may watch this one through other means.

    1. Are you sure there will be one? This seems to be one of those things doomed to the “shut the kids up for a couple hours” $10 volume release schedules, rather than a complete set for adult collectors.

  6. What a shame that you’ll not get to write an episode or two for “Batman: The Brave and the Bold.” I would pay good money for a Batman/Batgirl/Supergirl team-up by PAD. Well, hopefully they’ll ask you for some scripts for other shows for the “DC Nation” shows on Cartoon Network – or even, one hopes, something really cool like an Aquaman series… SIGN ME UP!!!

  7. So cool! Young Justice is an awesome series.

Did you get a chance to write any of your old characters from Aquaman?

    Best!

    Joe

  8. The latest episode definitely reminded me of your writing. It was a therapy session, which reminded me of X-factor 87.

    1. And yet, the latest episode was NOT one of PAD’s. If he had written that one, I’ll bet that loads of people would have slammed him for being derivative … of himself.
