Well, So Much for my Episode of “Young Justice” airing on November 11

“Young Justice” is preempted this Friday because of the two hour movie “Batman vs. Dracula.” So this pushes the entire slate back a week. Meaning the earliest it would air is November 18. And knowing Cartoon Network, they’ll probably wind up pushing it back to March.

UPDATED 10/27/11 at 8:32 PM–It turns out that it will indeed be airing on November 18.

  1. Sorry to hear that your show got pushed back. (I’m also sorry it hppened for such a lousy movie. BvD may make sense for Halloween, but I hated it. I’d much rather see the BATMAN/SUPERMAN MOVIE again.)

Also, do you know if the entire first season will ever be released in one volume? The 4-episode DVDs seen a little… short.

  2. Well, that’s disappointing! I knew your ep was coming up soon. I don’t mind having to wait a little longer, however…

  3. Darn! Had it set to record and everything! (Using season record on our DVR, because I KNEW that your eps were coming up!)

I was hoping you could bring some life to what seems to be a very stale, episodic cartoon. I’ve been watching, sort of like the train-wreck type attraction, and I’ve consistently been underwhelmed – and not the least because the far superior “Batman: The Brave and the Bold” follows it.

Notwithstanding some bad characterization, I think one of my biggest complaints is that you have a teen supergroup with Robin in it – and he’s NOT the leader?!?!? Aqualad instead of Robin? Who’s agenda does THAT push?

Sorry, hate to rant like that, but I so liked the REAL Young Justice – which, IMO, got unjustly canceled for the Teen Titans – and now YJ is BACK. The mind boggles…

Mr. David, can you reveal if there’s going to be a new YJ comic and could it be possible that you’d be scripting it? Please? I have to find SOMETHING with the DCnU to like…

    1. I believe that our esteemed host is Marvel exclusive for the time being (or “not-DC exclusive”, whichever seems most accurate).

As for the current DCU, may I suggest OMAC? I’ve enjoyed that book a great deal.

I stopped reading Teen Titans 2 years ago. I got tired of the new series when it felt they were always figthing either Deathstroke or something related to Trigon/Brother Blood.

    3. I actually think the YJ cartoon series is absolutely fantastic (IMHO). The ongoing storyline involving “The Light”, the depth of charaterizations and the plethora of guest appearances keep me eagerly anticipating each episode (and also cursing Cartoon Network’s inexplicable and tortuously long hiatuses). No problems here with Aqualad leading the team instead of Robin; I love the divergences and continuity differences from the standard DCU comics stories and characters in keeping things unpredictable.

      1. I’m with you. I’m enjoying the YJ series quite a bit. In terms of tone and storytelling, it’s what I wanted the Teen Titans cartoon to be. I don’t mind the divergences, either…the melding of different eras of the Titans and Young Justice.

Give me a single episode of YJ over entire seasons of Teen Titans or Batman: The Brave and the Bold any day of the week.

Looking forward to your episode, PAD.

    1. Yes, I do, and it’s a pretty major one in the season arc. But I have no idea when it’s going to air.
