I’d like to see a photograph of author Gaiman standing in front of Terrance Stamp so that it could be captioned, “Neil Before Zod.”
But that’s probably just me.

No, it’s me too.
.
Okay, someone at acon has to make this happen.
But that’s probably just me.
Not anymore, it’s not.
When is Stamp going to do a con? O’Halloran & Douglas have done shows.
‘Fraid you’re late to the party on this one. I forget who, but someone used to have a photoshopped head of Neil before head of Zod image for their LiveJournal account. The Laugh Out Loud Cats webcomic (LOLCats done in the style of turn of the 20th century comic strips) did the gag at http://www.flickr.com/photos/apelad/1481245335/
And I used it as a category in Win Tom Whitmore’s Books at the 2008 Worldcon (the question being something like “In the acceptance speech for his first Hugo, Neil Gaiman said that his 14 year old self had wanted more than anything else to win a Hugo and to have a certain Kryptonian superpower. Which power?” The answer, which no one got, was “x-ray vision”; we are talking a 14 year old boy here)
Okay. That would be totally awesome, especially since Zod’s famous line and basically most of “Superman II” is something I can say without hesitation was one of the powerful moments of my youth (where pop culture is concerned).
You have to work that into X-Factor somehow!
I saw someone do a photoshop if this, but instead of Neil Gaiman they used Neil from “The Young Ones”.
Robot Chicken had a rather humorous skit with the Kryptonian villains in an excercise video.
“Kneel before Zod”
“Do leg lifts before Zod”
“Do deep knee bends before Zod”
Bod by Zod
THAT IS VERY FUNNY, GIVE US SOME MORE
It’s not just you. I’ve had that same random thought rattling around my head for years.
I had a similar idea floating around in my head for years, but it was of Terence Stamp generously ushering Neil Gaiman through an entryway at a convention.
.
“Oh, please, I insist. Neil before Zod.”
Would you settle for a cartoon? http://mcmxcix.com/blog/?p=34
PAD: I posted a very similar thought to one of my blogs a few months ago. Only involved arranging panels at con one on Big Screen Super Villains and the other on the influences of Joseph Campbell on modern comics. To me, the super villain would have to go first.
Does anyone know where I can find a thought leash. I can’t deal with anymore of thoughts going stray.
