  1. Hey, Peter, I won’t be there, but if you’re in the mood to look at some awesome artwork – my husband, Jimmy (the FenCon artshow director) is working the LA Williams booth #4813. I’ve been telling LA Williams and Ruth Thompson about Potato Moon. 😎

  2. Interesting set of appearances. The Xbox 360 booth seems like an odd place for you. And forgive my ignorance, but what is F&W?
    .
I’ll have to see about buying something of yours once I get there, as I have no plans right now to bring anything from home this year.
    .
I still remember when I went to my first SDCC 4 years ago and I was up in the autograph area chatting with Kevin J. Anderson and seeing you wandering around up there, PAD. Unfortunately, you looked very lost at the time. 😉

  3. Still can’t believe I waited too long to buy tickets. I’m going to need more alcohol than usual this week. Well, PAD, have fun!

  4. The X-Box 360 booth? Is Peter David going to be pwning some noobs in Halo 3? BOOM! HEADSHOT! That’d be sweet!

    1. Oh, wait, you’re writing the Halo comic, my bad, I just remembered. Still, always good to get in some research ie. BOOM! HEADSHOT!

      1. Oh, wait, you’re writing the Halo comic, my bad, I just remembered.
        .
Ahh, I wasn’t aware PAD had involvement in that. Guess that’s what I get for having no interest in Halo. 🙂

  5. And wasn’t it just announced that PAD wrote a video game?

I’ve wondered what that’s like. Do you have to think about things like gameplay and such, or do you just tell a straight story and let the designers worry about adapting it?

      1. Ah. So they’ll put in suggestions like “We need an action sequence here, we need a puzzle for the characters to solve here”? I’m imagining it’s something like writing a D&D game module.

I wonder if Fallen Angel or Sir Apropos could be made into videogames. Bete Noire would be an interesting virtual environment to explore, and I could see Sir Apropos in the vein of the old Sierra adventure games.

  6. What happened to your RSS feed, PAD?

Also, I’ve been out of the comic book realm for a long, long time (I quit back in 1998, had a small resurgence with Dreamwave’s Transformers, but stopped before they went bankrupt… my fault, I guess?). This Fallen Angel series interests me, but I don’t know how to get into it—what’s up with the DC run being incomplete in TPB form? Can I start with the IDW books without starting being left behind?

Also, I’m looking forward to the videogame (Shadow Complex) you worked on, PAD. I was interested before the announcement you worked on it, but I’m definitely getting it at release now.

  7. F&W are the publishers of my book on writing comics. Also called Impact Publishing, and they’re the publishers of Comic Buyer’s Guide.

The signing at XBook is actually in connection with “Shadow Complex,” a new video game for which I wrote the script.

    1. Sweat deal. Do they send you Beta versions of the game while they work on it?

  8. I’ve never been to Comic Con, but I’m tempted to go just for the Gays in Comics Panel, since it’s got my two favorite comic writers (you and Gail Simone) discussing a topic that means a lot to me.

    1. You’re SOL this year, Robert, as it’s been completely sold out for weeks; 4 days passes sold out in March iirc.

  9. So why is it my comment last night never posted? Are these moderated or was it lost in a tube somewhere?

    1. Sorry, I tried leaving two comments for this post using Opera as the browser and none would go through. Now I’m testing Chrome and it works.

I’m happy to hear about your involvement with “Shadow Complex”, PAD.

What happened to the RSS feed?

I’d like to start reading “Fallen Angel”, but I’ve been out of comics since 2002 or so. If I JUST get the IDW books, will I be missing out? I’d get the DC ones, but they didn’t finish releasing the TPBs and I’m not sure how successful I’d be trying to find online all the DC issues (that, and I do prefer TPBs anyway).

  10. PAD at the IDW Angel panel?

Either continuing the cross promotion with Fallen Angel or maybe could be the new regular Angel writer?

  11. Speaking of the con, did anyone else notice that con tie-in illustration that Google used for its logo today? It’s pretty cool. And even though it’s really small, I it looks like it’s by Jim Lee.

  12. Peter, I just read that in the X-Men panel you said you’d like to have Nightcrawler in X-Factor. That would be really cool. I’d love that. Hopefully that was a tease of things already determined to come, but if not, is there some way we can help make that happen?
