Since aspects of Jamie’s personality can dominate a duplicate, and we all start out female in the womb, is it possible for Jamie to produce female duplicates?
Feminine in personality, perhaps. I’ve never seen him able to produce dupes who’ve looked different from him.
-ZOMG! Did Monet really do that?!?
I could be wrong here, but two words come to mind: diplomatic immunity. Her father IS an Ambassador. Does it extend to direct family? Or only accredited diplomats?
In the grand tradition of the old Handbook of the Marvel Universe, which wrings its hands over his ability to apparently turn energy into matter even though there shouldn’t be enough energy in a medium-sized tap to create an entire human body. I always figured he just got the mass from the same hypothetical dimension that growing characters like Henry Pym draw on.
I wonder if what Jamie’s actually doing is pulling alternate versions of himself out of virtual parallel universes that spring into “being” with each event or action that could go more than one way (as opposed to the real and accessible parallel universes that we’ve seen time travel into the past create). Sort of like what that mutant Flashback from the old Alpha Flight book did, only from the present rather than the future.
I’m really enjoying this book and the characterizations of all its principals. Though that moment with the chorus line of Madroxes chanting “I’m bad!” did give me a horrifying flashback to Michael Jackson…
But it has been over two years, and it isn’t the same character.
Alright, fair point.
But I’m just scratching my head at why Marvel is bringing back this character (or character name) for yet another series (to go along with Ghost Rider, Nova, Blade, and I’m sure there are others with soon-to-be-short lived series).
Rob Brown Said: Yeah, come to think of it, I never recalled seeing dupes whose personalities were different from the Jamie they split off from until after he contracted the Legacy Virus.
In the Fallen Angel’s mini he developes a rebellious dupe.

This may be the winning answer. Remember, Haven killed Jamie prime- it was his dupes that survived.

He’s creating matter. Its the only logical answer. Alternate universe versions wouldn’t be wearing the same clothes, and they wouldn’t be carrying identicle pairs of handcuffs, etc.
I liked it and particularly the dialogue in French which was perfect (I have noticed only one mistake : “que Se passe t’il ?” 😉 ) ! There is no comparaison whith FF 542.
I’m looking forward for the next issue.
As usual, a compelling issue. However, and this is a personal taste issue, I found it a bit too dark even for this version of X-Factor. It has been a week or so since I read it, so it has faded a little. And I will get the next issue. But if it continues this path, I will lose interest.
While this is personal taste/opinion, my feeling is there is a lack of true redemption. I realize it may come, but I am not sure PAD would even see the need for redemption the way I do. I don’t mind there being darkness in the book. It reflects real life. But I also want to see the contrast of pure light. I am not sure that in the X-Factor universe, some form of pure light exists. Or, to use a different word, is there a sense of hope?
I say this after watching the last episode of Heroes. There is clearly darkness, but there is also light. Who or what is the light in X-Factor?
Just thinking out loud. I am not going anywhere any time soon. I am still interested in seeing where all of this is going.
