…a comics related website where they’ve set up a nice page for me and everything…guys…I’m just about ready to give up. Lately, every time–EVERY time–I try to read or participate, I get slammed with “The Server is too busy. Try again later.” Entire posts of mine have been blown into oblivion by that message. I dunno what goes on there, but it would be nice if somebody fixed it.

What’s the address for that website?
He’s not gonna give us the address. They can’t handle the load now. Heaven help, if we all go to look at it as well 😀
It’s:
http://www.comixfan.com/xfan/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=360
I’ve got the “server busy” message a lot too on that site, but not right now.
It’s just an ongoing problem with ComiXfan.
I’m thinking that Dave Galanter’s Comicboards.com (home of the Psi Phi Star Trek Books BBS message board) might need to step up and offer creator’s formums.
I have the same problem over and over again.
Yeah, I’m starting to get annoyed at it, too. A great comic book oriented site is superherohype.com. Great forums that NEVER have “server problems” like Comixfan.
Yeah, that happens from time to time. It can get annoying, but there are times you can get on. Then again, I’m lucky enough to be able to find my way there at times when it isn’t so busy (I have an odd work schedule). Still, it’s a great site, just for the sake of some of its eccentricities. There are very few trolls or flamewars from what I’ve seen. Plus, it has one of the biggest groupings of fans dedicated to Jubilee from the X-Men that I’ve ever seen (I’m a sucker for that little mall-rat).
Pad, every time you post, paste the message to the clipboard. That way it won’t be lost if the server doesn’t recieve. Then, try again. I user this technique on google groups for lengthly posts all the time.
G’day folks,
First off, let me apologise for the site slowness of late. The upgrade was meant to rectify that, but there’s still a nagging bug in the system that’s refusing to stop choking the server. It is being worked on, and hopefully should be fixed soon.
In the meantime, try ensuring that you have cookies enabled in your browser as the site needs to use those to be able to keep you logged in if you’re a member.
Also, the site is most compatible with Internet Explorer as a browser, so if you’re using something else try accessing the site with IE. If you’re already using IE, you can try going to the Tools menu, select the Privacy tab, click the Edit button near the bottom, type in comixfan.com and click the Allow button.
Again, my apologies for the inconvenience.
That happens to everyone who uses the site, PAD.. I post there alot, and the only time that doesn’t happen is when I post from, like, midnight to 5am eastern… every other time you run a huge risk of the server being too busy. Believe me, everyone who posts there has had the same problem as you…
Shame, it’s such a nice site, though…
Replace “ComiXfan” with “TypeKey,” and you’d be describing my experiences here in the last few months. 😉
Uh, minus the whole “set up a page for me” bit, of course…

Mr. David,
I just looked at the goings on over there. Interesting. If it’s not too much trouble, is the sig you’re using there from the movie Awakenings?
If it is too much trouble, just ignore me.
