Getting Back on Track

Always a bit of a trick getting back into rhythm when I’ve been out of town a few days. Working right now on the script for “Fallen Angel #16,” and from there I go right into the next issue of “Soulsearchers and Company.”

Within the next day or so, I’ll post my schedule for San Diego.

Of amusement to fans who saw “Monty Sauron” is my hearing that the extended version of “Return of the King” will feature, among its added scenes, a sequence where Sauron taunts the men who have gathered outside the Black Gates challenging him. If that’s the case, I wonder if he’ll speak with an outrageous French accent.

And in answer to questions, no, I’ve no intention of posting the script for “Monty Sauron.” I already had two people coming up to me at the convention saying, “Hi, can you give me the script so I can perform the show at another convention?” So no, that’s not gonna be happening.

  1. Just testing.

I haven’t been able to post for almost two weeks. Let’s see if I’ve got it right this time.

  2. Can’t imagine Sauron shouting out
“your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elderberrys!”
though when asked if he wants to search for the ring he could reply
“no thanks, we’ve already got one – its very nice”

  3. And just think, if Shed and his twin brother had both come to the con, Monty Sauron could’ve had a guest appearance of Arthur “Two-Sheds” Jackson.

    Okay, I’ll stop now.

I’m hoping that it’s at least the “Mouth of Sauron” and not Sauron himself, since he was pretty much just the eye on top of the tower. It would fit the book that way.

  5. that would make a great spof reel if Sauron started mocking it up saying things like “your mother was a hobbit and your father smelled of orc dung.”

when does the extended version come out? and is it going to be an extended box set?

Also, Peter. I just finished One Knight Only and i think it’s my new favorite of your works. excellent book. Do you plan to continue the series?

  6. There’s a simple matter, Mr. David. The writers of the work could have the play published by a little company called Samuel French, Inc. They seem to publish a lot of plays. Of course, French doesn’t want to SELL the copies of those plays. No one at that company ever hit on the idea of distributing those books to real bookstores, aside from one cute li’l baby imitation bookstore for tourists that I stumbled upon during a trip to New York. They don’t even sell through Amazon.com. Publish your play through these French people, and I assure you it will never be heard of again.

  7. Hi, Mr. David…saw your play at Shore Leave and fell over laughing…

I was hoping to find a post of your script, but I understand why you wouldn’t…so I thought I would offer the suggesting of your publishing it so us fans could purchase and partake of your humor and share it with our friends. If possible, it would be great if you could have the play filmed, complete with George Takei’s interjections, and release it on DVD, since all couldn’t or will not be able to be exposed to this great piece of playwriting. Thanks for your consideration and contributions to the world of writing.
