Hey PAD, I was wondering if you or if anyone else heard of the fan created ST series called “New Voyages”. It takes place during what would have been the Original Series 4th season. It looks like they put alot of work into it, including recreating the old bridge.

I was there at Vericon yesterday, and can attest to the following.
One, Peter David was pretty hilarious.
Two, there was no Buffy-the-Musical Karaoke party.
That second one made me VEEEEEEEERRRY sad.
I was sad about the lack of Karaoke too! Especially since it was listed prominently on their online schedule.
I have a friend who was thinking of coming JUST so her 5-year-old son could karaoke “They Got the Mustard OUT”, which apparently is his favorite song in the entire world.
Why no CM19 thread?
NEW VOYAGES? There’s a couple of books of fan fiction that were published years ago by Pocket Books, based around original series characters. And some of the stories were actually quite good. Is this more in the same vein?

I never read any of the fan fiction books, so I could not inform you if they are related. I would suggest watching an episode to see if you notice anything similar between the books and the fan show.

Just a quick note on the New Voyages comments. We (I am part of the production crew) are a group of fans who are just crazy enough to build from scratch some of the original series (Star Trek) sets, costumes, props, … All to have fun filming our own, new stories of Kirk and the gang and maybe rasie a few bucks for charity.
In the first 4 days of release we had over 1,000,000 people download the episode and to date we are now over at 2,5000,000.
Some BIG news is being released tonight around 7PM EST on our message boards and we’ll be around to chat with anyone interested in our further endeavors.
