For you Spyboy fans, Dark Horse has scheduled a new four-issue “Spyboy” series for later next year, which I’m in the process of writing. Since I tend to treat every Spyboy outing as if it’s the last one (because whoever knows anymore?), this time we’re going all out. Time has passed, and this time Alex Fleming (aka Spyboy) will be going to his senior prom, graduating high school, learn the truth behind the identity of his mom, and go head to head with his newest and ultimate opponent: Spyguy.

COOL! I’ll start “pestering” my comic guy to make sure that I get these issues.
Thanks to Dark Horse for allowing another mini. Now just for some more Groo…

Here’s hoping Dark Horse will “go all out” for color this time!
Great News. Spyboy is my second favorite Peter David character behind Mac Calhoun. Now, there would be an interesting crossover.
YEA!! I’ll take whatever I can get. Maybe some Supergirl mini-series?? Now I’m just being greedy.
All right! More Spyboy! Gotta hope this isn’t the last of it, though.
Yes! Spyboy rocks the mic right!
Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!
Heh. Where’s Jade from Jackie chan Adventures when you need her?
Spyguy, huh? Why do I suddenly have a vague memory of a certain villian (too vague for his name; the kid who sicced Pikaboo on Deadboy… Something the God boy?) who ended up against an adult version of himself?
It was Klarion the (bum bum bum) Witch boy, IIRC.
Sweet! And I thought you went pretty “all out” on Spyboy: The Manga Affair! I look forward to the new series!
Is Pop Mahn slated to pencil, Peter? Robin’s inking some pages over Mahn now (Demon #6, I think), and I was pretty pleasantly surprised at how nice his pencils are. I’d thought they were a lot cruder, but now I see that it must have been previous inkers for whom I hadn’t cared. Very nice dynamism and clarity to the pencils.
Great news PAD.
Will Bombshell and the rest of the “Scooby Gang” be in the mini-series.

I’m thrilled! SpyBoy is one of my favorite PAD creations, hëll one of my favorite comic characters. This mini is definitely anxiously awaited!
As long as we’re talking about things Spyboy-ish, am I the only one who was rather disturbed by the ending of Spyboy: The MANGA Affair? No spoilers or anything, but it’s just that most of the MANGA Affair seemed like lighthearted fun stuff, and then the ending just made a sharp left turn into dark tragedy, which threw me for a rather stomach-turning loop.
Or is it just me?
So when are we going to have the SpyBoy-Soulsearchers crossover series?
I know I keep harping on this, but I think any Spyboy/Soulsearchers crossover would have to wait until after PAD gives us the story of Spyboy being set up on a blind date with Kim Possible…. 🙂
Very glad to hear of the new series in its own right, of course.

I’ll harp on it as well. Anybody who likes shows such as Buffy or comics like SpyBoy (or writes comics like it!) should check out Kim Possible. Now if only Disney still had a comics line (aside from the little comics in the Disney Adventures magazine)…

Pop has gotten a lot better on his pencils than he used to be. much better than his stormwatch days and he thinks i’m his only flash fan too! I had the oppurtunity to meet him and Jeep in Baltimore and he was really nice! I hope him and norm are teamed up again.

I thought the ending of Manga Affair was shocking too, but I loved the suprise.
Yeah, the end of Manga Affair was quite a dark twist. But that’s kind of the thing I’m beginning to expect from books written by Peter David. Often, he seems to do things really light for a while and then veer into a dark area for a while and then (possibly) back out again. The way Captain Marvel went is one example. I also remember how surprised I was when I first read Young Justice #15, which was my first encounter with that book’s few turns into dark territory.
In other words: yeah it probably got most people, but it’s all part of the ride.
Yes!!! Eversinces the cross over with Young Justice, i’ve been hooked on Spyboy. I only wished there could have been more crossovers between these two titles.
There’s no other place to comment, and I suspect PAD will post something about it soon, but latest news reports indicate that Saddam Hussein has been captured with no casualties outside of Tikrit, and is in good health and described as “talkative.” I don’t mean to begin the arguments between political parties that will follow, just posting facts as they were presented on MSN.

Five crossovers that would be fun
Spyboy meets Scooby Doo, Spyboy meets Soulsearchers, Spyboy meets Archie, and if done as a flashback Spyboy meets The Lone Gunmen. (Though a quasi crossover with Spyboy finishing up a case the guys didn’t finish before biting the bullet could also be interesting.)
How much of Spyboy is available in TPB? And are there plans to collect the rest?

All the monthly issues (#1-12, 14-17), The MANGA Affair (#13.1-13.3), and the Young Justice crossover (#1-3) have been collected in TPBs.
That’s all the SpyBoy stories except the strips from Dark Horse Extra, SpyBoy Special #1, the short comics in Reveal #1 and Dark Horse Presents Annual 2000, and the Motorola Specials miniseries. I don’t think there are plans to collect any of this.
