JUST A REMINDER

I’ll be at New York is Book Country tomorrow, signing from 2-3 PM at the booth being sponsored by Midtown Comics and Marvel Comics. It’s at 49th and 5th.

And in the morning, I’ll be checking out (and I suggest you do so if you can) the Broadway Flea Market over in Shubert Alley. Every year many shows and cast members turn out to sell all manner of wares in order to raise money for AIDS research. It’s from 10AM to 7 PM.

  1. Hi Peter,

I stopped by the booth today to get a couple of my favorite stories signed. Glad to have caught you, you were very nice. I got a copy of Spectacular Spider-Man signed and the trade of Supergirl, both really good reads.

    Thanks!

  2. Saw peter today. He was at the marvel booth where *nothing* was free, as opposed to the DC booth where the free swag was just overflowing their booth.

I politely asked if, despite being at the marvel booth, did he have any apropos books to sell? I still haven’t read Woad to Wuin but pick up Tong Lashing because, well, I own so must dámņ PAD stuff that I just had to have something of his that is autographed. Now all I need to do is wait for Woad to ship in paperback, or to be available from the local public library.

Oh, and, even in person, Peter David is *way* crabby about the fact that, thanks to his boneheaded publisher, the only way to find Tong Lashing is to get it from him. Not that I blame him.

Thanks peter. After years of buying your stuff, it was nice to meet you.

  3. On another book note, I was at my local used book store in Gaithersburg. About a year and a half ago, they banned the intake of more Star Trek books. They are still trying to sell off the four, double row, two foot long bookshelves full of them. Now, for years I’ve been trying to help them. I get Q-Squared, Q-In-Law and I,Q for people’s birthday there whenever possible. Sure, Peter is one of three novelist who sell well already, but that’s beside the point.

Anyway, thanks to a friends attempt to save my interest in Star Trek, he convinced me to buy New Frontier. (The first two books anyway). I absolutely loved them. When out and got books three and four yesterday. Would have gotten the Captain’s table one, but they only had the anthology book. guess I’m going to have to start paying full price.

  4. I was also among the visitors to your booth, PAD, and was glad to have the chance to say hi. I read my new and nesly signed copy of the Hulk Ground Zero TPB later on, and have to say it was very disturbing, and not just because of the McFarlane art.

Can anyone tell me what happened to Betty and her condition after the story, or point me to a link so that we don’t spoil the story for others?

  5. Hi Peter,

I also stopped by your booth at NYIBC. It was great to meet you and to see all your new work. As an admittedly lapsed reader of your work, and of comics in general, since I went to college, it’s great to see that you’ve continued to be so prolific. I picked up one of your new novels at the booth and I can’t wait to read it.
