Can’t wait to get it!:D
I’ve always loved TMNT and I really like Peter David’s writingstyle and ideas.
This should be a good match.

I picked it up today, but haven’t read it yet. Kinda think the artwork is offputting (IMO), but hoping the story will make up for that.
That was out TODAY? (punches self in head)
Yes, it’s out today and worth every penny. Looks like there are two covers for it as well, although I only got one. I need to go back and get the second cover! Peter, I’d really love to ‘hear’ some comments about the book by you… what do you think of the project and why did you take it on in the first place? 🙂
I was helping my friend who owns a comic book store today and was happy to see it out.
He ordered quite alot of them.
And there were alot of people surprised and happy to see it was out. I pushed the fact that PAD was writing it too. (most people who know me there from my managing the store know that i’m a PAD mark)
T’was the first and only new thing i read today and i must admit it was enjoyable.
I got 15 titles today myself. TMNT was actually the second book I read (after Chimera), but I do kind of wish I had more issues of TMNT to read now. I’m dieing to see how Peter introduces April into the story.
I didn’t get it, I saw it, forgot you did it, and passed it by. I will go back Saturday.
Hey PAD, good to see you stopping by 4th World today. Might I ask, how often do you visit?
TMNT wasn’t bad, for what it was it was ok, just not my thing, since I don’t watch the current show. Some nostalgia, not a bad product.
Oops. That was out today.
The days of me reading over my New England Comics Newsletter and knowing what was going to be out every week are long long over. Marvel’s constant delays had something to do with that as did four years of college and the sporatic trips to the comic shop that they brought with them.
I’ll pick up a copy next week.
Saw you on MTV for thr Hulk special. Good Job. You made my girlfriend chuckle.
I used to love the old animated series before it got all political and moved to CBS.
I quite liked it as well. Knowing that it was supposed to tie in to the cartoon, I was afraid they may have edited you into a simple re-telling of the show. (okay, I wasn’t really…but anything’s possible, you know?) I do so love being proven incorrect.
The downside to my day was the Graduation Day #3 came out too…
DC makes me shake my head sometimes…because that was completely senseless. I mourn Young Justice.
While I’ve never been a big fan of the TMNTs, I picked it up because your name was on it. The story was good, but I really didn’t care for the art much. While I do like your writing, the summer months are usually very lean in my house, so new comics have to work on all three levels (like the writing, like the art, like the characters) in order for me to keep it. Writing? That’s a no-brainer. Characters? If I give it time, I have no doubt that your writing will make me like them. Art? I just don’t see it happening. We’ll see in a few months.
Rob R.
Thanks for the heads up.
I, too, have never been a big fan of the turtles, but I’ve been meaning to pick this version up on the strength of your writing. I probably wouldn’t have realized this was the same book without the info. So, thanks again. 🙂
Got it…to be honest, it felt more like a fill in issue than a first issue. If I was someone who was picking it up cuz, say, Peter David’s name is on the cover but knew nothing of the TMNT, after reading it, I’d be compleatly confused as to who/what the Turtles are, what the Mouser was the Foot ninjas…any of it.
I mean, I liked the story focusing on minor/background characters, but just for an intro issue, seemed..lacking.
I am hoping you explain why Lab assitant April runs around the lab in a midrif shirt…
Also caught part of the MTV Hulk show…boy, PAD’s voice just wasn’t what I thought it’d be…not sure what I thought it sound like..maybe deeper…just different from the voice i “hear” when I read his writing. Must say, I’m more excited to see the movie after seeing that then I was before.
Good news and bad news:
Bad news first–I wasn’t able to get the book.
Good news–It was because, even with increased orders on the book, the store had sold out by Saturday when we went in.
Nice side-note–When the store owner placed a reorder while I was there, he noted that Diamond has it on back-order, which must be a sign that there’ve been a lot of requests/reorders for it. I should have mine in about 2 weeks.
