WIZARD CON PHILLY

I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned anywhere, but I’ll be attending the Wizard Con in Philadelphia this weekend. I’ll be arriving late Friday and will be there through Sunday.

Hope to see you folks there.

  1. This will be my first comic convention. How will we find you? Will you have a booth, or simply be going around enjoying the convention like anyone else?

  2. Very cool! I was going to wear my DAVID 3:16 shirt on Saturday anyway. Just to pìšš øff any Marvel people that might see it!

  3. Excellent. I’ll be there Sunday — I’ll be sure to stop by and say hi.

  4. can you please come to national comic expo in toronto? its the only comic book/sci-fi convention all year and we never have any good guests.

  5. no no no, he’s coming to NZ. you know, the place where they filmed Lord of the Rings 😛

  6. Boy, do I wish I could go there, but alas, I just can’t afford to journey back to my native city every year. But ONE DAY, I will get there.

  7. I will also be at WW Philly, where Philcon will have a table (gotta get them registrations!) in the Artists Alley. Please, stop by and say “HI!”. I’d love to have the chance to chat.

  8. Very kewl! My wife and I will be sure to stop by and say Hi on saturday…

  9. I just saw PAD’s name when I rechecked the list on Saturday. Can’t wait to meet you!

  10. I may not get a chance to stop by this weekend, but I’ll see you at Comicopia in Boston next week! 🙂

  11. I’ll be there too! I’m working the Palisades booth all weekend, so everyone come and partake of the Muppety goodness! They’ve got a two-pack of Bunsen and Beaker in tuxedos that’s just awesome looking!

  12. Caroline and I will be there as well. I am looking foward meeting y’all.

    Y’all? Y’all???

I thought you folks were on the east cost… sounds like you belong here in okie land 🙂

  14. If any con attendees on this list see a red-headed bloke who looks vaguely like the evil twin Ron Howard locked in his attic, that’s me. I’ll probably be wearing my un-PC quasi-Hawaiian shirt, with pictures and captions. (What else to wear to a comics convention?).

If you don’t want to say hello when you see me, just make the sign of the cross, yelp and jump back. I’m trying to buttress my evil reputation.

And while I’m here: I liked the latest Captain Marvel (#10). Spoilers may follow, so I’m going to play with your invisible text:

(it was visible in the preview, so I’m assuming that’s a feature not a bug!)

I liked it by itself and because of the nice trend it represents: Spider-Man for grown-ups. I’d guess JMS and PAD discussed Peter Parker’s possible adventures, given that Amazing Spider-Man has been reflecting details that are grittier — though NOT grimmer, thank PAD, JMS, Nylarhotep and Yog-Soggoth.

Speculation: Spider-Man’s lecture to Capt. Marvel might have been PAD giving us early notice that the only way Genis regains his mental equilibrium would be if he abandons his current extreme power level. Gee,the Kree armor and gun he’s already acquired would be quite useful then….and perhaps both Genis and PAD planned ahead for that.

  15. OK, it was a bug. I can see what I posted with spoiler text. Assume I’m apologetic, and fuhgeddabouddit.

  16. Kathleen, being from Georgia, has a perfect right to use “y’all”. Heck, despite being remarkably unSouthern for something who spent the first 20 years of his life in North Carolina, I’ve always found having a second person plural word to be useful.
