While trying to block some folks from posting garbage, I appear to have blocked a number of AOL subscribers from posting– including Peter, even.

We hope that the problem has been addressed, and we apologize for those folks who were blocked in the meantime.

    … Garbage posters! Yes! Better topic. My continuing sympathy to you for having to tolerate the Moron Brigade. Spring Break season, yes it is, and they’ve slipped loose from their keepers. We can only hope that they lemming their way off the internet.

  3. I feel for you, man; I had the same problem when a raving lunatic was posting death threats on the board I run for the magazine I work at, and in my banning zeal I ended up blocking out half of AOL in the process. Oops.

  4. The problem when it comes to AOL is that the IP codes change every time you turn the computer on and off! AOL’s system is undoubtably the trickiest to deal with in cases like this, right?

  12. JMS also uses AOL: “jmsatb5@aol.com,” as opposed to “padguy@aol.com” which is the address of the bloke du blog.

    Now if either of them were using “@msn.com” addresses, I’d be worried they were cozying up to the Shadows.

    But AOL? That’s just the training wheels of the internet. Once Peter and Joe get some technical confidence and competence, they’ll be able to use adult addresses. :^>

    No, Peter and I are beards for Kathleen and Brandy. Caroline is obviously Shana’s daughter and Peter’s grandchild.
