DARN. WHY CAN’T I COME UP WITH SOLUTIONS LIKE THAT?

The Broadway producers and the musicians agreed to split the difference and hire eighteen or nineteen musicians per show.

Also…major announcement coming, probably this Friday, about a project of mine.

  1. *enters to look for a PAD major announcement on March 14*

    Only 3 days until then.

  2. Is the project one of the recently aforementioned ones, Peter, like TMNT, Fallen Angel or Tong Lashing?

Or is it –God I’d hope so–the new New Frontier novel(s)?

  3. I’ll throw in my guess: given PAD’s comments about his trip to L.A. in CBG #1530, perhaps a Knight Life or Apropos movie is in the works. Or am I thinking too big. 🙂

  4. Can you at least fill us in on whether its good news or bad news? I’m hoping its good news concerning either “The Fallen Angel” or the Dreamwave “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles” or another new project.

Good news or bad? I can wait a few days for the rest. 🙂

  5. Hmm. Last time Peter was teasing folk with a major project announcement was at San Diego when said project turned out to be the to-be-named later Caroline….Nah, Kath’d kill him. 🙂

  6. perhaps a Knight Life or Apropos movie

That’s what I was thinking. Man, that would rock.

  7. \\Are you the New Avengers Writer?

    That would be awesome!!!!\\

Yup, it certainly would. Not to mention if PAD were to be the new writer for Green Lantern and JLA, which are both really in need of a tune-up just now, and certainly the former. And if PAD were to be offered a job by CrossGen, that too would be wonderful.

Well, whatever it is, I’ll be waiting to hear what it is this Friday, I too am excited! 🙂

  8. What I think…

    1. PAD has agreed to play Superman in the forthcoming film.

    2. Since many people in France are named David, he is renaming himself Peter A. Freedom.

    3. He’s finally going to reveal his true identity as eithe terry Pratchett’s American clone or the source of Terry Pratchett’s own clone DNA.

    4. He’s going to announce the winner of “Romulan Idol.”

  9. Okay, let’s try applying the David Doctrine to the feud between James Gandolfini and HBO over the new season of The Sopranos. The actor is looking for a cool million per episode, while HBO is offering $800,000. So by using a simple application of the David Doctrine, we come up with a compromise of $900,00 an episode and everyone goes home happy. Personally, I’d like to see series creator David Chase get pìššëd øff and whack his lead actor in the season opener. That would certainly send a few ripples through Hollywood and those actors who decide their marquee value is much suddenly higher than it was when they’d negotiated their contracts in good faith.

  10. If you go to the Star Trek books publisher’s website (http://www.simonsays.com/subs/index.cfm?areaid=44), they list a couple of New Frontier titles that come out in October:

    1) A NF antholohy titled “No Limit” that comes out in trade paperback.

    2) A paperback called “Gods Above.”

    3) A hardback called “Stone & Anvil.”

October’s shaping up to be a good month, book-wise.

  11. Whew! Nice to hear its good news. Between the cancellations of Supergirl and Young Justice, I was afraid that it might be the *gulp* cancellation of Captain Marvel, which would be a shame, because I think that even though its very dark, its some of the best work of your comics career.

Nice to know its good news. Can’t wait to find out what it is! 🙂

And the other union concession in the strike-ending compromise is also interesting: the committe from which Broadway producers cajole special dispensations to run with fewer musicians, which had been dominated by union members, will now have increased representation by producers.

Looking forward to the Friday announcement!

  13. What planet do you live on where one of the best writers in comics today going to the hellspawn that is CrossGen would be a GOOD thing??

CrossGen has already stolen enough talent from the rest of the industry with their stupid exclusive contracts… and everything they put out is still crap. Ok, I take that back.. it isn’t *all* crap, just 90% crap and 10% dull and unintresting.

That said, I hope the news is a new DCU project, because I love Peter’s DC work (and New Frontier books) most of all.

Marvel could really use some of his talent as well these days, but I’m done with Marvel until Jemas/Quesada are gone, or they do a 180 with the direction they’ve taken the company and make most of their books readable again.

  14. Are you joining CrossGen Comics?

Well, as i posted here before, if this were to happen, it would be the end of my reading comic books.

Avengers? That would mean me reading the book again hehe

Boy, do we have different perspectives. I figure the talents chose to go there, and Chuck Dixon is getting to do the pirate book he wanted to do for a while, George Perez is getting a regular book again, Barbara Kesel is writing regularly (Meridian, like Captain Marvel, is exploring the “Great power brings great responsibility” theme, but in a different way), and all these creators (and others)are getting regular paychecks and health care in a poor comics market. And, exceptions are made to the exclusives to accommodate special projects like JLA/Avengers. Sounds like a good deal all around to me.

  16. Frog Kid speculated: “Supergirl is not canceled anymore?”

Well, news like that would certainly make MY day.
