STAY AWAY FROM ME

I’m not much fun today. I’m fighting off a headcold. I was up until 3 AM last night working on the next NEW FRONTIER novel, then collapsed into bed, crawled out around 7 AM to get Ariel off to school, took some night time Theraflu ’cause that’s all we had in the house, and fell back into bed. Just woke up. Still coughing up interesting things from my lungs.

  1. PAD,

Feel better, I am finally getting over Bronchitis so I know how you feel. You’re working on a new Frontier novel. YIPPEE, It has been too long.

    Go to the DR!!!

    Some Drugs are good things

    Jim

P.S. Stay away from your wife, all you need is a sick pregnant woman

    🙂

  2. The next New Frontier novel?

That will make my wife VERY HAPPY!

(and me too when I finally get a change to read them from she’s told me about them.)

Get well soon, being sick sucks.

  3. PAD

Hope it’s not the stuff I have. It’s been bouncing my head off the wall and I have been mixing all sorts of drugs to cure it. Fluids really are the best because I’ve been loosing a lot of them.

Freaky thing, all I keep thinking is “Captain Tripps”, from The Stand.

  4. You just get your rest and then concentrate on that NF novel. We can get by without your daily updates for a few days. But, when you do feel better, what did you think of the most recent episodes of Buffy, Angel, Firefly & BoP?

  5. I think it’s kind of disturbing that I am glad that I’m not the only one who was sick this week. Just getting over a nasty cold myself so I can relate. Hope you feel better soon, PAD.

  6. For those of you suffering from anything involving the respitory system, here’s A SUGGESTION THAT WORKS!

Do your best to sleep in an upright position!

Just get all the pillows you can and prop yourself up like you were in an adjustable bed (if you don’t already have one).

This will keep the fluid(s) from building in your lungs and help you breathe a little easier.

  7. Feel better soon! That’s how prayers, work you, know ; )

Meanwhile, I just surfed in to your web log a few days ago. I’m rather ambivalent about this season’s Buffy and Angel, but I’d high recommend catching up on the re-reruns for The Dead Zone and Oddessy 5. Both turned out to have much beter character development that I expected. Plotting could use some work, but better than Smallville so far.

  8. Feel better soon, PAD!

Maybe it’s the time of year, but there seems to be a lot of this going about. I had bronchitis a few weeks back, and now my wife is laid up with a nasty cough.

Get lots of rest & plenty of fluids, etc. And, as the Russians say, Boodh zdaroff kak sto koroff, meaning, “Be healthy like a hundred cows.” Genuine Russian proverb.

  9. Peter, a few weeks ago, I had a bout with the flu, and when it broke, my voice was gone. The second doctor I went to said I had asthma. I had had bronchitis for two winters in a row (perhaps from working outdoors), and although I had been coughing all summer, I thought it was in my head. Turns out it’s asthma. It’s costed me two doctors visits, a chest x-ray and four different prescriptions, all totaling $350, and I don’t make much money. I’ve been confined to my house for weeks, unable to work, and slowly going mad.

I can sympathize. Take care of yourself, and take as long as you need to get better soon. You don’t have to make an entry here every day.

  10. In the words of the great(ly disturbed) philosopher, Denis Leary, all you need is NyQuil!

“You barely have time to say ‘Hey, this stuff tastes like—‘ and you’re out!”

Hmm…you don’t suppose NyQuil’s slipping ol’ Denny a little cash on the side?

Well, be that as it may (and if we ignore convention,it was) do feel better, P.D.

I haven’t been hit with the full-blown illness yet, but the other night I had a headache that’d make you beg for the Backstreet Boys in Stereo Surround! Or interrogation by Torquemada, or a Pitt-boy film festival. . .you get the idea.

So I suppose it’s only a matter of time—especially since one of my card-playing pals got full-blown strep throat last night.

Ah, the joys of the changing seasons!

  11. Sir David,

    hope the cold passes.

    and the writing goes well

and that you ignore weird fans who show up on very little sleep at 4:00am, CST.

  12. Now I’m all jazzed up knowing there’s a new NF novel. PD, THIS is the series that needs to be made for the SF universe.
