Today (well, yesterday) she is a woman

Ariel did a wonderful job yesterday at her Bat Mitzvah. She accomplished her torah reading and Haftarah reading with panache, and did a superb and animated job with her speech as well. After that the assemblage, approximately seventy strong, adjourned to the reception hall where attendees danced from everything from traditional circle dances to "Time Warp." Friends and notables from this board who attended included Elayne and Robin Riggs, Bob and Deb Greenberger, Glenn and Brandy Hauman, Mike and Joan Friedman, John and Nan Peel, Steve and Dana Saffel, and many others.

Woodbury Catering handled the food and Albert Lee Music oversaw the DJ'ing, so if anyone in the Long Island area is looking to cater or provide music for a function, I can't recommend those stalwarts highly enough.

It was great watching her having such fun with friends and family. She certainly worked hard enough for it and deserved her celebration. And by the way, she read the previous thread and extends her thanks to all who offered their congratulations.

Congratulations Ariel! It seems like only yeaterday that your father was telling what are now doubtlessly embarrassing stories about you as a small baby.

My belated congrats, too, Ariel. I think I've seen you at Dragon*Con with your dad, so I'm not just tossing thanks out randomly.

And referring to what Bill Mulligan just said, now you can look forward to your dad studying your dates as they arrive at the door, and turning them into mass-murdering villains in his scripts.

Thanks again for inviting us, Peter - I'm composing my blog "review" of the occasion now... Ariel looked so poised and beautiful! Don't forget to give her our gift, last time I saw it was still in your pocket. ;)

So, I've always wondered. Given the whole "Today, your daughter is a woman" riff, is it traditional to give the father of the honoree a shotgun to threaten potential swain with? :-)

Seriously, congrats to Arial!

Albert Lee, huh. Once a mighty bluesman, now a DJ. Well, there you go.

Ariel!!! A big congrats!!! Thank you for such a wonderful weekend! Congratulations on being an adult!! Your uncle Rande and aunt Beth had a wonderful time--As did your oh-so-cute cousins, Sarah and Emily. (Sorry, but I had to say that!) Peter and Kath, thanks so much for your hospitality! Caroline was so cute, wandering around the big dance-event with her big-old Sombrero! Ariel, your sweet little 3-year-old cousin Sarah had the time of her life (This is so true!)--twirling around on the dance floor in her new blue dress--with you! You are totally her favorite cousin--she talks about you all the time!! :) (Sorry Mike and Matt--you guys are wonderful cousins too.) Ariel, hope you had a wonderful Day!! You totally deserve it!!
Thanks!, (Your loving family, Uncle Rande, Aunt Beth, and Cousins Emily and Sarah)

Congrats, Ariel.

So now that you're a woman, when are you going to write a BID?
