A toast to the bride and groom

Congratulations to David Mack, Star Trek author (including the Zak Kebron story "Waiting For G'Doh, or, How I Learned to Stop Moving and Hate People" in the New Frontiers anthology No Limits) on his marriage this weekend to the lovely and talented Kara Bain, a real Supergirl if ever there was one.

In his honor, we have arranged to have the Boston Red Sox beat the Yankees like Neal Peart's drum set.

I met Mack and his future Mrs. on only one occassion at the Wizard Con in Chicago a few years back. I can honestly say that I've never encountered a more humble, kind, generous, friendly human being in my life.

Congrats! Is David Mack, Star Trek author different from David Mack, Kabuki guy?

Yep. They are two different people but don't worry they get that question all the time.

Although I've already wished them happy nupitals at another website (One for swing dancers as Kara that's where I know Kara from. She's a helluva a dancer guys!) I'll do so again here! Great after party on Saturday night!

At one point during the wedding reception, while spinning it old-school Electric Boogaloo-like on my back donned in a midnight blue bespoken doubled-breasted single shawl collar tux from the early Fifties, I looked over at those two and thought to myself, "Man, oh man, these two are in love...and ain't that grand!?!".

What happy news! Congratulations to them both, and may they have all the love and happiness they could possibly hope for!

Hate to break this to you, but Dave has never been to Wizard Con in Chicago. You probably met the other David Mack, the one who does the Kabuki comic. They're not, as has been said elsewhere in this thread, the same person.

It was truly a glorious wedding, and I was honored to be a part of it.

No sweat in breaking it to me as it had already been pointed out.

In his honor, we have arranged to have the Boston Red Sox beat the Yankees like Neal Peart's drum set.

Having recently watched the "Rush in Rio" DVD, I am left with one question -

How do you propose to make the Yankees spin around while the Sox stand inside the circle, beating first one side, and then the other? And will Steinbrenner's head make an adequate substitute for Neal's beloved temple blocks?

They'll just use the pitcher as the spindle. :)

I think that Steinbrenner would work better as the Base drum, or the giant gong that he used to have at the rear of the drum set.

All I'm really sure of is that I'm seeing Rush live on June 26, and I'm soooo looking forward to it.

Put Pedro on the mound and everything will revolve around him.
